Yes, that's it. Using that as the trigger will mean high beams give you lights, dip to low and no lights. (at least the way I wired my aux lights, which are spots).

Be aware that some of the wires on the 14 model are a different color than previous years. I'm not sure about this particular one but I know the rear brake lights are slightly different wiring. There is a thread about it somewhere.

Sorry for digging this up, I did a search using Skene pink high beam/skene pink/skene highbeam and haven't seen any threads on the 14+ models having a different color for the high beam wire. I'm putting in my PC-8 and Skene controller today, if there is any other threads that reference this info, I can't seem to find them.

Did another search with just skene and found that it is the same pink wire on the 14+ models.

I just wired a skene dinner and baja designs on a 14. I don't know anything about a pink wire. I got power and ground from my Eastern beaver and tapped the white high beam trigger wire from the skene to a yellow wire coming off one of the plugs above and to the right of the battery.

I had the same trouble you are having. I just used an amp meter with the bike running to figure out which wire got hot when I flipped on the brights. Careful what you read on the internet.

I'd just like to say this thread saved me about an hour of scratching about trying to identify the trigger wire which is pink on my 2013/14. Cheers fellers that's why I love this forum ::008::

Will be wiring some Denalis as soon as they arrive. I've read this whole post and another just like it. Some say yellow wire, others light brown but the majority say pink. I guess I'll try the pink wire...

Some may be colorblind. ::008::

Seriously need advice. Which wire is the low beam? I've located the pink wire, which I understand is the high beam. The dealership installed my screaming banshee horn and used a yellow wire to tap into the high beam light, but this activates the high beam. Anyone know which is low? Trying to wire my Denali lights and I would like to have both low and high beam ability and not use the switch it comes with if possible.

Hey there. I'm not trying to be a smart ass I promise. If you're gonna do this kind of stuff on your bike, get a multi-meter, or at least a test light. You don't want to be guessing when wiring stuff. Apart from that, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to help you out. I only posted this because I'd hate to see a thread called 'oops I've melted something important.' :)

+1 to the using some type of device to check.

I've still only got the old Euro manual from when I had the 2012, but it's been generally accurate for the little stuff I've done on the 2014 non-ES. The book lists:

Item 84. Headlight L/W Blue / White
Item 85. Accessory light (OPTION) L/Y Blue / Yellow

That said, if you are trying to hook extra lights to the low beam and not using the Accessory light wire, I'd strongly suggest using a relay for power to your new lights. There's not a lot of extra capability int he wire diameters of the stock harness.

Thanks guys, I figured it out myself. If anyone is needing this info, you can use any switched power lead to power any light accessory. I used an extra cigarette lighter I installed on my dash, that is connected to my Eastern Beaver PC8. The high beam wire is connected to the pink wire about the boot. Pretty easy once I put some thought into it.

Does anyone have a picture of where to find the pink wire on an ES that is NOT hosted on photobucket?
Removed the quick release panel on the right side, remove the upper panel above that. it is upper right side near junction cluster where the turn signal connectors bunch together under the rubber boot. As others have said, it is a pink wire. Will Rotten's first pic in the posts above shows the pink wire in the back of that bundle where his yellow wire is tapped. That is the pink wire you want.

Update: my 2017 s10 was a pink wire for the high beams. That’s correct. My 2019 is now a BLUE WIRE WITH A BLACK TRACER. There is no more pink wire at all. I can’t speak for 2018s but the wire harness direction and all the colors are different for 2019. This is the wire that powers up when the high beams are on.
