My addiction is ADV bikes. I spent two years with two different cruisers, and it wasn't until someone struck me in a roundabout and totaled my last bike (three weeks ago) that I decided to move my timetable up in owning an ADV bike. It was always in the plans, but years down the road. Well. It's time now. Her name is Raima (japanese for Thunder Horse).

So yea, I found a replacement bike. 2015 Yamaha super tenere ES with a two year factory warranty and loads of quality kit attached.
Examples: Rumbux Crash bars, Baja Squadron aux LED lights with Amber rock guards, Bumot Defender hard Panniers, Givi tail box, Back off brake modulator lights, Wolfman Rainier tank bag, Pillion rack to replace the pillion seat for more storage/lashing space (Pillion also included, along with owner's manual and service manual) -- whoever had this before me, loved it and it shows.

I'm wondering if this person was actually a member here, because I have a couple connectors under the seat, and some switches on the panel infill, that I have questions about. :D

Here's the video of the roundabout incident (take note, she was at fault and cited).

Welcome from Texas. The connectors under the seat have been declared as "unknown"; nobody can/could come up with a definitive answer. And, if you have an infil panel with switches....hope for the previous owner to chime in, because THAT will be a custom feature by the owner.

Welcome from So Cal. Interested in how you feel about the Bumot's? I've just ordered the same size for mine.

I, literally, just purchased this bike from the showroom. However I've been on two rides, one a test ride and the other back home. First off they're solid. I smacked them with my feet a bunch. Second off, the semi-captive hinge is GREAT. Opening the lid and not having it snap closed or open with the wind is baller. The seals are super robust in these, and they're super roomy. There's a small lockbox on the right pannier that I imagine I will use for registration and whatnot, since it's also weather-sealed.

Worst case, I run a multimeter and a test light and see what lights up. The problem is they did a real good job running the cables, and sealing them with black tape for the entire length. I'll eventually figure it out once I dig in. I'm hoping that I might find the previous owner on here OR someone who knew them... or at least the mods themselves.

Welcome from Fullerton. Nice bike and sure am glad you are OK. All over the world drivers are proving how stupid they are. Motorcycles are seen nothing more than a piece of road debris. Videos like yours make me cringe!!

Welcome :)
(One switch could a "ABS off" switch)
Figured it out tonight, since I finally had a chance to start playing around. Each switch controls the outlet next to it. There's another 12v outlet and a dual USB outlet in the panel, they're constant-on, so the switches apply current.

Oh, heck, yea. That is much easier than getting into the fairing for the Yamaha tool kit.

Welcome from the Young Kingdoms. Not sure if you are the Elric I'm thinking of? And if you are, take Stormbringer and thrust it into that person from the roundabout and feed the Black Blade.

If that is not the Elric reference I thought it was, disregard what I said up there and welcome from the Armpit of America. NJ.

lol, I know and appreciate the reference (speaking of, did you read the Ruby Throne comics that came out? They were so so well done). Believe it or not, this name was prior to me knowing that reference, and was a D&D character name from when I was sixteen. It just sort of stuck with me after that.
