Hello from Australia!
If I had the opportunity to live in the USA, it’d be Texas first and Florida second

Uh, stick with Texas. I think our climate is more like yours. Florida has stupid crazy humidity, and a shit ton of bugs.

I just moved away from a dump called Brisbane. It was stupidly humid in summer and the mosquitoes would still attack us even in winter (or the time of year that we call winter and compares nothing to the cold experience in the USA )
I hate humid weather. Have been out to the desert in the middle of this country and dry heat is so much better to tolerate.

I do too. Then you'll want to visit Arizona, New Mexico, or Nevada. West Texas isn't too bad, and many don't think North Central Texas is bad, but down by Houston gets sticky.

Sounds like a plan!
I’ve never visited the USA but my intention has always to visit the flyover states and avoid the edges

I'm the opposite. California would be great if there weren't any people there; fantastic roads. Arizona for the weather. Montana in the summertime. Maine and Massachusetts are gorgeous, and they have lobster with claws. Louisiana 'cuz they have gumbo, but they also have some crazy stupid humididity. North Carolina 'cuz it has all the dragon's body part roads.

There’s the clincher…. “… if there weren’t any people…”
