I’ve been through this, I mounted a Gen 2 madstad on a Gen 1, the brackets fit perfect. The only difference is the screw holes on the windshield. If you are going to use a Gen one windshield you will need to drill news in the Gen1 windshield to fit the Gen 2 bracket.however if you are changing the Gen 1 bracket to a Gen 2 bracket a Gen 2 windshield will fit exactly.
hope that helps

thanks thats what i thought the above oem bracket, will fit onto the 2 black plactic parts that the gen 1 screen fits to, so if you take a gen 1 screen off, fit this bracket onto the oem plastic stay, all you need then is a gen 2 screen nice and easy

the only difference beteen the gen 1 and gen 2 is the gen 1 screen fits straight to the black plastic stay and the gen 2 fits this stay to the black pastic stay then the gen 2 screen,
the difference in gen 1 and gen 2 screen is the gen 1 screen holes are closer to fit to plastic stay, but as the gen 2 uses this bracket the holes on the gen 2 screen are further apart to fit to this bracket

Funny you would add that bracket as I'm taking mine off. Seems the vibration from that rattle trap has caused my frame stay to crack under the cluster. It really does increase the vibration off road. I just finally found a gen 1 givi airflow so bracket will be gone and not missed

Yes, that is absolutely correct, you just need a Gen 2 screen. I went the other way, I removed the brackets, which I personally think are rubbish, in order to fit a Gen 1 Givi Airflow. This was probably the single best mod I have done on my bike for rider comfort. I found the Gen 2 screen caused terrible buffeting no matter how high or low the screen was and the bracket was way too flimsy for my Garmin satnav, and yes, I did buy a set of the bracing struts from this Forum and they didn’t help at all. The Gen 1 Givi Airflow screen is brilliant, it’s night and day compared with the Gen 2 screen.
