Hello everyone,
new member of your community here.
I traded my 2015 Tracer for a beautiful 2012 XTZ1200, this is a new world to me!

So far I have no regret of doing so, this bike is a better fit to my type of riding and overall more confortable ride.

If you have any advise for me regarding maintenance or issue I should be aware, go ahead!!

Bike is 100% stock (well there is an aftermarket windshield..) and has only 19 000kms, yup, it feels and looks like a new one.
Today I did engine oil/filter, final gear oil change (well needed), was going for brake fluid but it is clear as new, so I just jumped the abs to cycle the pump (who knows how frequent it’s been used) and now I’m looking to buy a manual pump to change fluid in the hydraulic clutch (it looks like Coca-Cola in there).

Welcome from Stratford Ontario Canada.
I'm in my second season with my 2018 Tenere ES. 26,000 km so far... Love the bike, but I'm getting older and was thinking of downsizing to a Tracer GT. The Tracer GT has similar options as standard, but 17 inch wheels, there goes my gravel riding. I like to explore and have the versatility to take an exit other than paved roads.
Tenere 700 nah, no heated grips no cruise control, I like to ride on expressways as well, so I need a litre between my knees. Might go back to an Africa Twin...had one for two years, and 30,000 km. Great bike...
THERE IS NO ONE BIKE THAT DOES EVERYTHING, but the Super Tenere comes close,

I liked the Tracer, but for me the 3 cylinder has too much vibration. On long distance it was bothering me, I could feel it in the handlebar and pegs, this probably due to the engine revving 5000rpm or so most of the time. The SuperTenere is wayyyy smoother.
As for the height/weight, I don’t really feel the difference, except when it’s time to park it (manually). Seat height from ground is the same.

Okay thanks for your comment about the Tracer. I had Honda CB650 last season for a short while, 5,000 km. It was blistering fast, but very "buzzy" and certainly not a bike one would want to ride for any distance. I traded in my Africa Twin and the CB650 for the Super Tenere.
I do miss the Africa Twin, but not the 650.
My conclusion, thanks to your input regarding the Tracer is to give the Tracer a miss, and stick with the Tenere.
Tenere, fast enough, Tenere, gravel road Ok, Tenere, long haul is good as well.
I'd love to have a stable of bikes, but here in Canada we are forced to pay full insurance coverage for every bike
ROBBERY!!

Welcome from Peterborough Ontario here. I’m just at 900km on my 2018 Tenere ES and looking forward to the warmer weather coming.
Warmer?? Hmmm...I've been riding since March 12 of this year...6,000 km so far.
I'm in Stratford Ontario.
Get yourself some good quality riding gear.
But a heated vest or jacket. (12 volt only)
Plug it into the battery tender.
You will be amazed.
Freedom heated clothing Saskatchewan
$140. for a 12 volt heated vest.
