Here is a good video on how to clean the fuel filter, or replace the fuel pump.

Excellent, thanks! Just downloaded the video for my maintenance file. I'm going to have to tackle this project at some point in the future; I actually already bought the replacement filters from eBay.

Very helpfull, will the gum he got inside the fuel tank and the fuel pump filter, is that something that will easily form in the fuel tank? Is an italian video, will the fuel in Europe can develop the gums and not in america?

Why will you think you will have to replace the fuel filter? have you experience any driveability problem associated to such things like the one seen in the video?

From the video I infer that he used "bad" or "dirty" fuel. while in the desert (assuming North Africa).

Yes it seam to be TO DIRTY to me too! or he use to travel through wild country and refueling in places where fuel is very old and had evaporated some, producing that amount of gums.
