Dear all. My 2011 wont start. Fuel pump isn't priming and sometimes even the starter button isn't turning the engine over. I use the bike every day and Im desperate to get back on the road so any advice is greatfuly received. Thanks

Change the battery out, if that is the original in the bike then it has served it's purpose well, especially as you use it daily.

I would start with jumper cables. If it starts, question answered & problem solved.

Check your battery connections. A loose or corroded cable can cause this, even when the battery appears to have good voltage.

Second, I agree with the others, try jumping it with another vehicle. You won't need to be concerned jumping from a car or truck. The bike can only draw as much as it needs, it's not possible for excess to come from the other vehicle. Just be wary of cranking too long at one time which can over heat the starter motor. 10 second, rest 10 seconds. Key off when resting, as that will shut the headlights off and make it less of a drain when you make the next attempt.

Not really part of his description, but do y'all think WOT might be a benefit here? I do +1 on the battery though.

Hi Folks. An update for you all. It was, much to my surprise, a tear in the yellow wire coming from the ignition barrel. I've soldered that up and hopefully all is well now. It has actually happened before but the previous repair was done so well that I didn't expect it to have gone again. Thanks for all your help.

Glad you found and fixed the issue. Quite often the problem is the last thing we did to our bike, repair or farkle wise. Once the battery and connections were ruled out, your intermittent symptoms would have pointed us in the direction of switches. Good job on finding the issue. Hopefully it will stay fixed this time. Might be a bit of strain on those wires at certain points in the steering swing?

Thanks all. Yes 2damax..it is the ignition key area.
I take back my previous post however because I've still got problems so I'll start a new thread with the details!
