Hi guys,

now last week i bought a NOCO GENIUS 2 trickle charger after recommended on a nother thread here, have the charger nice bit of kit, tried it on my wifes car standard 12v battery charged lovely,
now the noco genius 2 has a few charging modes, it has a 12v 12v agm, 12v lithium, 6v now you have to check what your battery is and then connect it up and put it in one of the above modes so it charges correct,
now my wifes car had a old 12v standard battery so i put the noco in 12v connected up and yep it charged it up to green job done,

now i have a yuasa ytz14s battery on the tenere that i assumed was a standard 12v battery so left the noco in 12v mode connected it to the optimate lead correctly expecting like the car for it to come on go first red, second red, 3rd red green then trickle charge. BUT when i connected it a red big v warning came on only when i checked the instructions the red V warning was voltage to high for selected charge mode.

so took it off came in looked at YUASA YTZ14S batteries and it doesn,t say on the battery AGM but most of the adverts say its a AGM, so i haven,t put it back on the bike at the mo as battery is good starts first time, but i,m guessing the mistake i made was to swop the noco over to 12v agm AND IT WOULD OF KICKED IN PROPERLY

any thoughts

rob
