Help with ALTRIDER crash bar install

Hi all,

I’ve just received my ALTRIDER crash bars and am having trouble with the left side where the radiator grommet is. Can’t seem to get the holes to line up. Everything else has been fine, I’ve got all the bolts super loose. I was watching a video and it looked like at one point they had the rubber grommet upside down, which would allow for more free play but then it would just fall off.

Has anyone had any issues with the left side? For reference the bike is a 2021 and the package says the bars are good to PR (present).

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

if memory serves ,when I installed the alt rider on my 2019 it was a challenge . had to push and pull etc. .... try installing left side first then working to the right side . and if memory serves , it was a pain . good luck .
I really remember it took a lot of pushing and pulling to get it fitted.

I’ll take another stab at it today. I was cranking on it pretty good trying to get a bolt started on the left but wasn’t having any luck. Maybe a fresh start will help.

Thanks all.

Thanks again to those who replied. I took another stab at it, loosened everything off and managed to get it bolted in. It was still a bit of a bear - watching the videos I didn’t expect to have to have to use so much ‘encouragement’ to get the left side to fit.
I have an ACD skid plate coming so it’ll be interesting having to unbolt the front to get it installed.
Cheers!

I’ve just fitted my ACD skidplate and already had Altriders fitted, if I were you I would remove one of the front mounting bolts at a time and replace them with studs. That way it is easy to mount the ACD and more to the point, significantly easier to remove it (without messing with the bars) when doing an oil & filter change.
I used these:
Don’t forget that you’ll also need 2 M12x1.25 nuts as well

I bought a 3' lenght of GR 5 all thread and GR 5 nuts and have done two S-10's, I never had a problem pulling the bolts to get the ACD off I just worried about the aluminum threads in the head!
