Dear friends across the pond,

For a project I am doing in my spare time I need a reasonable quality (no need for the absolute best), reasonable priced tap and die set in BSC. It needs to contain at least the 7/16.

Very very hard to find over here. And the brexit made it near impossible to ship things for companies. And the google algorithm makes it hard to search outside the Netherlands.

Something like this would be perfect:

This set comes in a box normally.
Sold-out and isn’t getting any soon..

Thank you,
Stefan.

Absolutely spot on Rob! That’s exactly what I am looking for, and good money too! I’ll go and see if I can put a good set together and try if they ship it to me. If that doesn’t work I’ll report back. When I try to google those tools the algorithm doesn’t show anything like that, even when I put “UK” in the searchtoo.

And thanks to @yoyo for putting the effort in too!

Stefan

Yes that is the right tools indeed. I don’t need it ASAP, I am already looking for it a few weeks now.. winterproject. I have reached out to them after Bimota send the link, expecting an answer after the weekend.

The link you sent from Hitchcock motorcycles has some very nice boxes too!

Thank you,
Stefan.

Your welcome! I am planning on a trip from Harwich to Hook of Holland, (its my favourite route into Northern Europe), in May. I usually do 2 trips, one in May the other in September each year, but I bought my current ticket 2 years ago just before Covid struck and Stena have let me transfer my booking. If it all goes to plan, I may catch up with you in 6-7 months time!

That’s something to look forward to! What is the intended route/destination? With a group or 2 up? There wil be a day when I visit the UK with my bike but that will not happen any soon unfortunately.
Let me know when you are around, we could have a chat/coffee/ride/whatever somewhere!

Hi Stefan, I haven’t decided a destination yet, I have been to the Hartz Mountains a few times and all over the North of Germany, I especially like the Baltic coast and I have also been to Poland, Sweden and Denmark and I was planning on heading for Bavaria as I don’t know that region very well. I have stayed in Groningen a few times. I always travel solo and alone, that way I can do pretty much as I please. I have taken groups to Holland, Germany, Belgium and France, but I found you can’t please everyone and if no one else is prepared to take on the planning and booking, then I thought I would simply travel alone. I am pretty flexible when I travel, I usually book my first night after the crossing and my last night before returning, everything in between can be booked as I go along and I can change my mind as I go. I usually book through Booking.com and I will would be happy to meet up when I back back into Holland.

That's how I travel as well. Funny that when you travel on your own, you meet more people than travelling in a group.
Just back from a 3 month trip to Spain / Portugal, now preparing for a roundtrip of UK and Ireland.

That is exactly right! I found when I have travelled in a group, you tend to stay in a group, but when I am alone, people come and talk, they are generally curious about where I am from, where I am going and I have made friends this way.

Let us know when you are heading this way, there are a few of us S10 owners in South Wales who would be happy to meet up and maybe show you some good places to ride and visit.

Thanks, I'll surely keep that in mind !
I'm thinking of leaving here (Brussels) early april, make my way to the south of England and then more or less along the west side up North. Wales is definitly on the list, as is the lake district. Then into Scotland, take the ferry to Northern Ireland, make a round trip Ireland, back to Scotland and along the east side of England back to Dover. Should be back home end of june.
Going South first, I presume (or rather hope) to have more chance on good weather (particularly in the Norh) than the other way around.
But I'll bring my rain gear anyway. :)

I think I could send it to you as a gift to maybe get around Dutch customs if that would be helpful Stefan

A very big thank you for all the help! I gained some good contact's with the links you all sent me and very pleased with the help offerings for shipping. Those new contacts allow me to bypass some middleman here in The Netherlands!
Tracy Tools is sending directly to my house, this has got to do with the fact that i have a company. In the end it is cheaper to have it all the official way. I will not bore you with the facts but has got to do with VAT that i get back, import fee's are business costs etc etc.

Many Thanks!!
Stefan.
