Hi guys,
can anybody point me to a part number for a poer cable.

Now the starter relay thats part number 4yr-81940-02 between the 2 30amp fuses has a lead with plastic plug that has 3 cables in it, thick red one and 2 smaller leads.

I need to replace it, am i right in thinking this lead is the lead that goes straight into the start switch on handle bars so i need the whole switch.

cheers Rob

I don't think what you are asking for is the lead that goes to the starter switch assembly. The thick red lead goes from the battery to the solenoid. The 4YR-81940-02 part number is for the solenoid itself, which I don't think comes with the wires when ordered new. I can't find the part number for the solenoid wires by themselves.

The starter switch leads look like this: LINK

The lead with the 3 cables in it, thick red one and 2 smaller ones looks like this: LINK

I found the negative battery lead in the parts fische - 23P-82116-00-00 But that is not what you are looking for. The positive lead , ( Cord, Starter Motor), from the solenoid appears to be 23P-81815-00-00, but I suspect the other 2 leads are part of the main harness, as far as ordering from Yamaha.

This might be what you're looking for: Ebay UK link

If you need the harness to the handlebar switch, that's going to come with the switch assembly.

I'm pretty sure that is the main wiring harness then. The switch harness meets the main harness under the upper right hand panel, (above the quick release panel). I've been in there before.

You may want to clarify what year your bike is just in case there are differences between the Generations at that area. I know the switch housings and wiring are different on Gen I and II bikes for the handlebar switches.

Your most cost effective route may be to repair what you have. You may be able to get connectors from Eastern Beaver if you need them.

Has the start button switch got a long lead with a white plug on the end that fits in the middle of the starter relay on those 4 plugs between the 2 30amp fuses.
cheers

Take a look at the pictures for this harness, I think the bits you seek are shown there on the lower part of the pic and clearly part of the main harness. Ebay Link

No. The starter harness does not have that. And is no where near long enough to reach the solenoid.

2013 main harness part number is: 23P-82590-10-00 It runs about $500USD from a vendor here in the US, but there are lots of them on Ebay and perhaps your local bike breaker will also have one for a reasonable price.
