Shoei GT Air II. I attended a demo ride at a local bike dealer. While waiting I tried on some helmets. When asked what I was looking for I answered “not another HJC, has to have an interior sun visor.”

HJC was a good fit, but noisy. I thought it was just the dreaded Super Tenere wind noise I was experiencing when I was riding.

Well I sprung for the GT Air II and knew right away that helmet was a lot quieter than the HJC it replaced. 20% off helped also.

Right on Maverick!! I have not seen one yet. I think my local helmet dealer has them in stock. I'm hoping the fit is as good as the original Klim Krios. That one fit my head perfect in medium. BTW, how do you like that magnetic chin strap? That looks to be a pretty slick feature!
It fits exactly like the original Krios. The buckle is absolutely amazing. I can pop it off at a stoplight, scratch my head, put it back on and fasten the buckle without ever taking my gloves off.

I have been riding around the Ohio area, and at the end of the daily rides, stopped in a shop in Columbus that has a great selection of helmets to try on. The LS2 fit my oval head, but was too short in height. I tried the Shuberth C3 Pro for about 30 minutes, and had a hot spot on the forehead. The newer Scorpions have seemed to have gone more round then the previous years (have owned several). Left for the day and came back the next, and tried the Neotech 2. No hot spots, and comfortable. Bought it, and have put about 50 miles on it. The wind noise (always ride with the visor up), is about half, but the biggest thing I noticed was I had to turn down the volume on my earbuds. That much quieter then my Scorpion.

The Arai fits the best, but I like modulars.

We’re you able to try on a Nolan 100.5 Mark? It sounds like we both have long oval heads, and it fits me well.
They had a shelf full of different Nolan's, and I tried them. Don't remember which models they were, but of the ones I tried, they felt too round for my head. Wish I could remember if one was a 100-5. The Neotec is listed the same as the Nolan being intermediate oval, but I was told, and found out, they more long oval.

I’ve worn the original Neotec. It fit but was slightly too round for me; nothing a little compression in the forehead of the helmet didn’t overcome.

The 100.5 is Nolan’s most recent modular, and fits well without modification.

Do you know if the Neotec 2 changed head shape from the original model?

Not sure if they did. Never have worn the original. The RevZilla YouTube review mentions it being more oval. Tommorow will be the test for me, as I will be on the bike all day.

Arai XD4, for the first week or so I was unsure if I made the right decision, but once the padding softened up and fitted in the right places it's great.
Earplugs are a must due to all the venting.
It's currently winter here in Australia, I still ride to work everyday (140km round trip), rain, ice, temperatures hovering just above 0 celsius, had issues with fogging (even with all the vents) till I fitted a pin-lock insert.

Guess it depends on what you are looking for, sometimes miss the modular I wore on the FJR, some advantages to being able to just lift the front and shoving some food or drink into your face.

Hello there guys!

Its time for a new decent helmet. I always went for mid-quality helmets, I mean, "secure" but not the best helmet. Like LS2.

But now I'm old, and tired about the wind noice inside the helmet. So, I want opinions on good helmets that are "silence" on wind.

Any thoughts? recommendations? Thanks for reading!
Yup, just buy yourself a new comfortable helmet, full face and just use ear plugs.
There are no "quiet helmets", although some helmets are quieter than others.

My first hat was an HJC CL-17....Great pot...no issues along with a very reasonable price.
Then, I bought a Shoei RF1200. Not as quiet as the HJC
Just recently I bought a new HJC with a pull down sun visor, very good fit, comfortable and a great price.
I tried on two Arais and they don't fit me.

I thought that until I wore a 3/4 open face helmet one day out of necessity. No visor just glasses. Wow, no noise. I now understood why my buddies on HDs wearing open face helmets didn't need ear plugs. I've tried a few others and all the same. It seems the noise comes from around the visor.

After 2 Shoei Multitec's I am now useing the Neotec that is now 3 years old. I have just replaced the liners (£80, about $100) so it's good as new. I have tinnitis, but so did my mother and she never rode a motorbike or listend to loud music, so it may be something in the genes. The wind shield helps a lot although half of the wind noise I experience is from the top air vent, it's a noticable difference when I close it.
The main downside is, it's a large shell for my xxl head, so it will not fit in the OE top case.

I understand not all heads are shaped the same. Recently picked up the Arai xd4. Had Arai's before then switched to HJC RPHA. For me going back to the Arai was like being with an old friend
