Hello members, joining you here from Alberta, Canada. After much research and humming and hawing about parting with cash I pulled the trigger on a 2018 ES with about 50,000km.

Spoke with the seller on Saturday morning and decided to ride the 3 hours over to check it out. We made a handshake deal and by Sunday I was already ordering some parts.. Got a buddy rounded up to give me a ride back on Tuesday so we could throw parts and extras in the car and I rode the bike the 300kms. back home. :)

I'll be the third owner and between those before me, it has a few nice additions. Factory side cases, National cycle windshield and side deflectors, up and back risers, some led bulbs and another light bar underneath them, (I've yet to get out for a night ride) looks like a givi skid plate? And SW Motech crash bars, a Touratech seat and a full headers and muffler from Arrow. Ecm has a Woolich racing file and finally it was topped of with some time on the dyno.

I've been going over the bike and doing short rides, getting acquainted and making adjustments to the shifter, levers, throttle cable etc. Getting it how I like and replacing a couple missing screws and rotted well nuts.

A touch about me: I guess I started on two wheels 25 years ago with a 1977 Honda xl100 bought at a farm auction and proceeded to 125 and 250 dirt bikes from there before moving more onto the highway side of things. Had a few shaft drive bikes, including a couple of Suzuki Intruder 1400's and a '79 Yamaha XS1100. I like to tinker, make custom parts and do all my own work. Pretty 50/50 pavement and gravel rider with a sprinkling of two and even single track riding. Slowly putting together more camping and cooking gear to expand my motocamping/travelling abilities. My most recent daily rider that the Tenere is intended to give a break to is my 2009 Suzuki V Strom 650 which recently rolled over 150,000km. I've had a blast on the Strom and enjoy it very much, here's hoping the Tenere is just as enjoyable :)

Welcome, from Texas. I think the Canadian bikes came with the boxes. And just to let you know, the brakes are linked, unless you activate the back ones first. Then all you get is the back brake. Makes slow tight turns much easier.

Hello from Queensland Australia.
Alberta, eh?
Shall we ask the question about succession and joining up with another country to the south?

Thank you everyone :)

Sierra1, yes I believe that is correct. Haven't done too much for slow maneuvers on this one yet but I do enjoy practicing making tight circles and trying to balance at a stop etc. good fun hehe

Matt51F1, meh, I'd rather not, it's already everywhere. I'm here for motorcycles and motorcycle activities! Need a beer emoji haha
