Covid has brought bad times for travel. I have only been able to travel throughout Europe from Spain to Norway and Finland on the border line with Russia but without entering Russia. The closest thing to America was a trip I made from Denmark to Iceland, Iceland, a fantastic land for Off Road, I met many Canadians but without their motorcycles, there is only a ferry trip from Denmark to Iceland to be able to board cars and motorcycles. My job prevents me from having more than two three months to do intercontinental adventures. I have watched videos of great trips like you quote on Amazon channel, I watched one from Germany to Mongolia visiting Gobi desert
You've done well then to do that much travelling in these difficult times. I think I've seen that trip across the Gobi desert that you mention, I also follow some of itchyboots travels on a humble Himalayan 400, though I find her commentaries a bit boring.
I had been planning a trip from here, UK, across France, in through Huesca, Zaragoza, Cuenca then Tarancon and from there to the Almeria province, going west through Sierra Nevada and up via Extremadura through western Spain that I don't know well, then north and home, hopefully do that next year.
I did half that two years ago on my Harley Sportster with my son on the back, but we turned west at Tarancon through Madrid to show him Avila and Vallodolid before heading north to Gernika, then home through France.
Spain has got some great riding countryside given the amount of mountains there are, but the open fields of Aragon, and of course La Mancha give it balance.
There's loads to see, and on one trip I even discovered there was actually a PLACE called Torquemada, who knew?
