I just bought a 2017 Ivory Super Tenere, Love the bike, was wanting to know if anyone has installed a set of the HEED crash bars......I email the company and inquired about fitment on a 2017, they replied they don't fit. My thought is the ad on ebay says fits 2010 to 2016......no change as far as I can tell on the 2017 from 2016...any comments or help would be great.

Heed are made in Poland, and have been used by members on here, they are a decent set of 'everyday engine bars', Rumbux is the way to go for any serious off roading though.

Never heard of them till this post. They look pretty impressive. Sure Rumbux is probably the best if you get the entire system. But the price difference is quite a bit! They seem just as every good as all the other brands.

I have HEED bars. Not that it helps the OP since I have them on a 2012. That said I like them quite a bit. I have had a few low speed tip overs on them in dirt, gravel, and concrete; and they have yet to bend. I touch up the paint and move on. Also lived in Florida and now Hawaii have yet to see any rust, been about 8 months.

Also why are people comparing these to rumbux? They aren't even close in intended use and cost. OP is asking about Hondas and people trying to up sell him to a Ferrari

"People" are not trying to sell him Rumbux, I was merely trying to set the difference between the two as for expectation, depending on their intended use. I personally have the standard OEM bars which are just fine and would have gone for the HEED brand if I did not remove them from my old bike and put them on my new 2016. So climb down from that horse you rode in on and take the comment as it was intended.

For under $200 USD, the Heed are filling a price point and offer decent protection. No, it's not the full Rumbux system, nor is it intended to be. But it looks like better coverage than Givi and higher than SWMotech, a heck of a lot better mounting points and coverage than Touratech, (not to mention that price point again), so if you have nothing to start with, Heed isn't a bad option. The quality is good, so look at what you want from them and what your final cost with shipping is and do the normal comparison shopping, then decide what works for your needs.

Thought I would update this post and let you guys know, I have ordered the HEED and will hope that they fit the 2017. As a means of background, I just got the bike. I have been riding for over 40 years and spent most of the early years riding dirt bikes, then cruisers and touring bikes. I also drag raced a VFR 1000 interceptor for a bit (that was a hoot) Now I'm looking to get into some adventure touring, for example this summer I will be riding to Newfoundland Via the Trans Labrador Highway. But the reality is I'm not planning to get into the serious off road riding just yet. If I do then YES I think the RUMBUX is the way to go. But for me right now the HEED look good have excellent mounting and should offer plenty of protection. I just hope they fit the 2017. HEED have be very good to communicate with, they responded to my questions honestly, they said they do know they fit the 16 but not sure on the 17 as they have not tested. I will gamble and try. I will definitely update here as well. thanks guys for the feedback.

The 2016 and 2017 are quite different because of the BNG. (Bold New graphics)

Physically, they are identical and the bars will be interchangeable.

Thanks

As has been previously said, yes, they will fit the '17 models. There have been no changes to the bike other than color. Certainly nothing that impacts body panel shapes or mounting points. Heed is just covering their butt since they haven't actually seen them installed on a '17 yet.

Speaking of color....apparently Yamaha changes the name of a color depending on which country the bike is in. I noticed the Canadians are referring to their Ivory Teneres, while in the US the same color is referred to as Sandstone. Has it always been that way? I've never had the occasion to compare anything with other countries. I always thought a color name was the same throughout the world.

When I was researching the S10 I noticed that as well.
I do have a Ceramic Ivory S10 and when i went to my dealer here in Canada and asked for the sand stone one they looked at me funny and then I later realized that it was the american one.. Weird. haha

I see that I'm late, as the OP already ordered his bars, but for future reference...I have the Heed bars on my '12 and I'm very happy with them. The fit was perfect, they seem quite sturdy (although they haven't hit anything but bugs yet), and the finish on them is fine. Great product at an excellent price point IMO.
