They are $399 MSRP. A 2 hr install by dealer. They are supposed to integrate with the menu rocker switches to operate.

I bought a set but have not had them installed yet. The dealer charged me $350 including labor as part of the purchase price.

You sure they integrate w/OEM display/controls? I just assumed they would be like the pre-2014 grips and come w/bracket and switch to add... Is that in the box?

I just had them installed on my standard 2014, it took the dealer an hour. They are plug and play and integrate just like the ES.

Re: 2014 Non ES Factory Heated Grips

I can confirm Threeput's info:
The part number to add factory heated grips to a 2014 Standard model ST is: 2BS-H29A0-V0-00
The parts included are:
Left Grip
Right Grip (and throttle tube)
2-zip ties
Right side wire guide
1-M3 screw for wire guide

It's plug and play, wires attach on rt side near the battery. Directions say approximately .8 hours for installation.

I had them installed at Romney before I picked up my 14. I love the interface on the info screen. Very intuitive.

Seems to me it would be a lot cheaper to just order the LH and RH heated grips from the S10 ES parts list
Bout $220 from Yampartsnation

Don't know about the '14, but on the earlier bikes, the throttle perch housing was also revised and the mirror was relocated with a bracket.

Re: 2014 Non ES Factory Heated Grips

Ya I noticed that in the pics but I'm hoping that is only on the older models,
Can anyone confirm for sure that the 2014 kits only have the grips and a wire bracket as noted in a previous posting above ??
Thanks in advance

As you surmise, the pics on the Yamaha acc page use a single photo of the old kit (you can tell because it has the heat controller) for all the years/models, so it isn't accurate for the 2014-2015.

If you bring up the fiche for non-ES vs. the ES it certainly looks like the throttle grip housing (Yamaha calls it the Cap, Grip Upper and Cap, Grip Lower) looks different with the ES have the characteristic bulge where the heater wire is coiled internally. But strangely the part nos. are the same and you can't seem to order the lower one. So color me perplexed. On the 2012-2013 kits, they also have a new saddle clamp for bolting on the master cylinder which provides a boss to mount the rear view mirror. This allows the mirror to be relocated further aft where it doesn't foul the throttle cables which are in a slightly different position with the heated grips. I don't have any idea whether this is something they still have with the 2014-2015 kits.

The poster above seems reasonably certain of his info and the part nos support the idea that they now have a "universal" throttle housing which works on both heated and unheated. Still puzzled by the fiche pict differences though. If you can pull this off, it would save a lot of money.

That's very interesting, it would really be nice to actually see the contents of a 2014-2015 kit
I'm really hoping I can just buy the grips and plug them in.

Re: 2014 Non ES Factory Heated Grips

I installed the Yamaha heated grip kit on my 2014 last week. The parts list is:
left grip
right grip
2 zip ties
right side wire guide
m3 screw for wire loom. (the packing list uses the word "loom" but it holds the right side wire guide above)

Without seeing an ES bike to compare all the pieces and wire routing it would appear to me that purchasing the pieces separately should work. Not sure if the wires are embedded in the wiring loom on an ES and if the ES makes the electrical connection at the same location as the non ES. One grip had a black connector and the other had a gray connector. The connection point just above the tool kit location had connections of same colors.

Re: 2014 Non ES Factory Heated Grips

Thanks for the hard info. Looks like you're good to go. I doubt anything other than the grips themselves is very important. And I already think we've had confirmation that they're plug-n-play.

If it were my bike, I'd also take some perverse pleasure in telling Yamaha to go jump in a lake with their $400 acc price for a couple of heated grips. Since I happen to have the fiche page bookmarked, here are the grip part nos. and the discounts at MRcycles.com (could be cheaper elsewhere):

Grip, Warmer (Left)
2KB-82963-00-00
$143.96
$102.21

Grip, Warmer (Right)
2KB-82960-00-00
$160.48
$113.94

That great news, thank you much for the helping info, looks like I can get a pair of OEM grips for about $220
A lot cheaper than the "kit"

Re: 2014 Non ES Factory Heated Grips

It seems that the 'right side wire guide' is not available separately. It might be a critical part as I have read of a few accounts of broken wires and failed grips on the throttle side (possibly due to improper lubrication of the wire).

Re: 2014 Non ES Factory Heated Grips

I'm not exactly sure what part is the "wire guide" but I simply purchased the 14' ES OEM grips and only the grips, nothing else and installed them on my 14' standard without any issue. The dash displayed the grips as soon as I switched over the menu to that option and have had nice warm hands ever since:) The cost was about $195 form Stadium Yamaha Obviously you can buy some of those pads for $10 off of Ebay and DIY a kit, but since the bike was plug and play with the OEM the extra cost was well worth it.
