So I did search, I did speak to a blue monkey tech who was no help. I am trying to hook this, what I feel like is a POS by now, up, here are my questions if anyone could help me PLEASE!!!

I got to the ECU and I found 4 grey wires in the plug connecting to the ECU closest to the rear of the bike. I tried to use all of them and I find that the light on the GI X-Type only shows half of what it is supposed to be showing, sometimes the bike will not start sometimes it wont idle, maybe I got a defective unit, I don't know.

I guess what I am looking for are the exact wire colors of where to connect the GI to the plug going to the back of the multi function unit. That will be the easiest to connect. So if someone has a wiring diagram for that plug or just better instructions period, that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the frustration, I have been at this for 2 hours now, no luck maybe I just need a break... Grrrrr..

Thank you in advance.

WHITE................BLUE.........................Larger Connect od ECU

I installed mine a couple of years ago, following the above instructions, and it works perfectly.

Hi Juan,

Thank you for your input. I do appreciate it. I have a few questions still though.

When you mention small and large connect, are you referring to the plug size that fits in to the ECU?

I found the GI was bad. getting a new one this afternoon. I actually went out and bought a service manual fro my bike but no where in this manual can I find the pin out for the plug that goes in to the multifunction display or a proper pin out of the ECU. I am really hoping to get some assistance on this please folks.

To answer your questions:
The AUX connect (fog light) is the smaller three wire white connector by the battery (behind the mass of cables). This connector is there for plugging the auxiliary lights.
The Small and Large Connect are the two connectors that plug into the ECU. If you're good at soldering you can cut the wires and solder a branch for the GI. Alternatively you can use posi-taps without cutting the wire (the way I did it).
Good luck.

That makes a lot more sense. Thank you for your help! I will go home and give this a try. The thing that confused me was the fact that the instructions said "Grey" wire and I have like 4 or 6 gray wires... lol Grey and green, grey and black, grey with dots\stripes so I was not sure anymore. lol

Thank you Juan, for your assistance. Now that I got a working unit (Somehow I got a bad one) I installed it and programmed it in under an hour thanks to your clarification... It works great!

I actually managed to screw up the programming the first time but the reset process was easy and reprogramming, even easier.

Thank you sir. I hope someone else in my shoes will find this helpful one day

Glad that you've got a working gear indicator. That's what this forum is all about - sharing and helping.

I didn't see the clarification on which blue or which grey wire as there are multiples and none are a solid color as they either have stripes or dashes on them.

From an old post on the Healtech SpeedoHealer installs. Search is your friend. I used this tip when installing it on my '12.

I contacted Norbert at Heatech Electronics, manufacturer of the GIPro X Type at info@healtech-electronics.com
Got immediate reply and after a couple of mails clarifying my doubts and following Norbert's directions the problem was solved.
It was my error in connecting the red positive and black ground GIPro cables to the 4 pins heated grip accessory plug. I founded another positive 12 volts when the key is turned on and the GIPro started to behave as expected.

I also strongly recommend to connect the green GIPro cable to the 2-pole black Crankshaft sensor connector (located near the battery terminals) to the grey cable. It is much more simple.
