Heading out to Colorado soon. We are not going to start at one end and ride to the other end of the BDR. Im looking for suggestions on the best / fun sections and then any other areas people suggest. We can hop off the trail and go explore another areas. Again, Im looking or those suggestions so I can put a 'loose' route together.
(looking for awesome paved / gravel / off road)

**There is one caveat, we will both be fully loaded with camp gear, Etc. My buddy does not like hard off road, so it can't be anything super crazy we can't do fully loaded.........

Thank you for any suggestions !!!!!!!!

(I have studied the BDR web site and have looked at the COBDR carefully. What a great site. )

I can give you a bunch of suggestions on some dirt that fully-loaded big-bikes can do easily.
Wish I could bust out of work and ride with you!

and Gold Camp Road to Old Stage Road.

There's certainly no shortage of scenic dirt in this state.
I have personally ridden all of these routes on my Super Tenere.........Most of them while fully loaded with camping gear. There are plenty others as well.
You guys shouldn't have any problems.
Be mindful of "altitude sickness" it affects everyone differently if you are not used to these elevations.

I'll add a bonus if you are looking for some of the best pavement motorcycle roads you'll find anywhere!

Hwy141 through Gateway

Hwy92 (Black Canyon of the Gunnison)

Rode from N to S about 6 weeks ago and completed about 40% of the route with two over nights. We found no shortage of great sites to pull over set up camp in the National Forest. We rode and started looking for good spots about 1 hr before dark. Enjoy your trip!
