Jimi here. Just got my first Adventure bike. Rode in a MC for years and need a change. Bought this 2018 with 28 miles on it. Can’t wait to start the adventure. Wasn’t sure I wanted this type of bike but I stopped in and sat in it and fell in love. Bought it lol. Anyways, looking forward to learning about this style of riding.

Welcome.

Former buell and harley owner here. I find the crossplane twin to have a whole lot of character. Its really not unlike bored out evo with a hammer 1250 kit in terms of grunt and fun...just way more power everywhere.

A good pipe and maybe a flash and this engine really shines.

This bike is designed to eat up huge miles on and off pavement, which means it can go damn near anywhere and do damn near anything if you have enough skill.

Its not a dirtbike, but it has poweful delusions of grandeur that work in its favor in that department.

Welcome from Texas. Don't get stuck on the "adventure" tag. The Tenere will be whatever bike you want her to be. Carries her weight well enough to be fun in the curves. Enough ground clearance, and suspension travel, that your not stuck to only riding pavement, and hopping curbs is a piece of cake. And enough carrying capacity be loaded up like a rented mule. Enjoy.

Thanks guys. Now I need to get some stuff for it. Hey Bimota, what crash bars, skid plate and cases do you have?

I plan on riding it to Alaska from the east coast. I used to drive back and forth but never on a bike. I was told these bikes are meant for this type of stuff. The only time I’ve hopped a curb on my road king was by accident and it wasn’t pleasant lol

Congratulations ! AND WELCOME ! One of the best feelings is seeing a cool "road" of any type, and if you like to explore, this bike will take you down that road with confidence !

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post up on the forum anything you like, great group here !

Welcome from the Armpit of America, NJ. Ride, eat, fuel up, eat, ride, rest, eat, ask questions on this forum, ride, ride, sleep somewhere, repeat til you need your first oil change. Ride, eat, rest, same for 3000 miles oil change, eat, rest, ride, ride some more, set of tires after however many miles your tires squared off, ride, probably another oil change, etc. You see where this is going. Great bike, great forum, have fun, enjoy the ride, live life.

Jimi congratulations on the new Tenere ! Its a very good bike to ride to Alaska on ! I have ridden to Alaska three times so far twice on Tenere’s. Yes a good set of crashbars is a very good idea that could actually save a bunch of money if you ever happen to go down somewhere.

Welcome form Minnesota!

You will like the bike. The ST has far exceeded my expectations. It is a comfortable mile eater. Seems to take 5-7000 miles to really break in. I would not mess with pipes or mapping until then and see how you feel about it. My 2 cents of course :)

Hi JTS603 and welcome to the Forum from South Wales, UK, I have to agree with Wallkeeper, ride your new ST10, bond with it and enjoy it first then you can begin to think about how you would customise it to suit your needs.:)
