Got a chance to sit on the PA today. Looks great in person and the seat felt really comfortable. Unfortunately this is a US bike making the rounds in Japan and they couldn't even switch the key on, much less start it. Size-wise it's a bit taller than my S10; with my 30” inseam I could barely get the balls of my feet down while on the S10 they’re firmly planted. I can see the adaptive ride height coming in handy.

Are those HD branded crocs ?

I still think it's bufuggly. I also want to know what's behind the chin spoiler/guard. It has cooling fins. Did they put the oil filter there too? The motor looks like plastic.

I was just looking at that bit myself. Looks like some kind of heat sink and a red cable behind? It could be the starter motor? The rad looks a bit vulnerable too...

HD usually put the reg/rec out in the breeze, down front. Presumably the oil filter is behind the plastic too.

I didn't wanna say but I agree, the motor looks like it's plastic. I prefer the look nd sound of trad Harleys tbh...

I don't have an issue with the engine look, it's just odd, but, I think there are going to be a lot of people that feel the way you do about the sound.

But it's not a traditional Harley. That's the point. Harley is trying to broaden their customer base into a very lucrative, upcoming, market that they couldn't reach with "traditional".

Where is the current filter located? I mean, they copied the sound of the Tenere, surely they didn't copy the filter location. :D 'Cuz, to me, it has to be the dumbest location for an oil filter on any bike. . . . let alone a dedicated adventure bike.

You may be right. But, they're going to have to advertise to high heaven that they're not your grandpa's H-D. Because their new target audience isn't going to know, since Harley has resisted any kind of change since forever.

Located on the bottom left front corner.

Problem I see, is where can you really put the oil filter. Towards the back, or on the back of the engine, you have all the engine heat, and minimal cooling air. Yes, the skid plates we put on reduces the air flow, but there is still air circulating up front, and with cooler air.
