Similar thing. An
old lady tells me that there's a car parked in the same spot that she left hers, but it's not her car. She said it looks exactly the same, but it's not mine. Thinking that she was starting to slip, I asked her why she was so sure that the car wasn't hers, she replied that the license plate on the car was wrong.
So, I ran the plate on the car, and it came back to her, and her husband. . . . and had been issued three days ago. She apologized for wasting my time, and told me she was on her way home to speak with husband about changing the plate without telling her.
I was impressed. I'm not sure how long it would have taken me to notice my plates had been changed.
