If your talking about starting with something like a 'drag' bar (straight) and putting slight bends in it, just a word of caution.
A drag bar is uncomfortable as hell. Your wrist joint pushes your elbows outward (uncomfortable).
Many bikes (like cruisers) have a high sweep or bend and isn't all that uncomfortable because the wrist joint easily allows that position.

Everyone's different, but I just made some bars for my 2012 that are 3"+ higher than stock and kept the stock sweep. (I'm 6'3")
Haven't ridden it yet but I think I'm gonna like it!
I'm talking about trying to bend my stock bars slightly enough to get some of the sweep out.

FWIW I have 1" Rox risers, the ones that go up and forward but don't rotate, with stock bars. All cable lengths are fine once routed to suit. I didn't like the stock bar sweep either, but now don't notice it, I seem to have adapted.

Won't fit my 14. If I coulda found a 1 inch up and back,, I would bought it.

I hit up my favorite loop today. Hate the Rox Risers especially when playing. Only time I like them is when I'm standing so I'm removing them. Anyone want a set of nearly new Rox Risers for a Gen 2???

I had those risers on my previous 2012 though had them installed Up and Back bring the bars closer to me.

Sorry in advance if this is covered somewhere else already, but I've been looking exhaustively and cannot find what I'm looking for. I've seen the question asked a couple of times, but I don't see any definitive answers.

My question is specifically about the cables. I am already running 2" ROX Risers with the stock cables and hoses and I'm about to pull the trigger (I think) on some Pro Taper EVO high bars. I have a handle on the brake lines, and I'm not too worried about needing to extend the wires if necessary, but I'm concerned about the length of the throttle cables and what to do if they are not long enough to accommodate what I want to do.

Planning a 21K mile trip where there will be quite a bit of peg-standing going on and right now, I have to hunch over to do it. Not at all comfortable for any period of time. Another 2.5 to 3 inches of rise will suit me nicely and I'm prepared to suffer the consequences of my actions. I'm hoping to find someone with experience on this particular issue and you all are an awesome wealth of knowledge, experience, and beneficence.

Thanks for any help,
Paul

It looks like the Adventure high bars has 190mm control area and i don't think its enough so I got the Pro taper Contour 11/8 Raptor bend. This gives you a little more room to get all the control's on ,Its 30mm lower . Jaxon said he had put a few on with no problems. I just ordered them and will try with out risers .. Got to be better then stock bars !

I had no issues with the control area on my adventure high bars.

I have the Rox risers and tried the Adventure High bars but found the throttle cables too tight for my liking.

I know I've read somewhere on the forum of someone bending the stock handlebars to reduce some of the excessive sweep. I've searched and searched both with search function here and using Google and no luck. Can somebody point me to that post/thread? I want to try this as happy with stock bars otherwise. Not sure if I should try bending with the bars mounted. Don't want to stress or damage the top clamp but if I remove them no way I'll be able to hold the bars to bend them. Bad idea?

Just today I put on some Pro Taper Contour Raptor bars on my 15 s10es , less sweep about 11/2 higher then stock and about the same set back. I had Jaxon's extended brake lines if needed ?? Well i used the lines after all ' to me the stock lines were to short . I know some get away with it, better safe then broken some where . Not to bad of a job, the left heated grip just need's to be worked around the inside with a longer thin screw driver and some carb cleaner. I bled the lines at the lower fittings of the hoses I replaced. Everything worked out great .. I see on the controls the nobs everyone grinds off but I am a vergo and I drilled the holes to stop any possible rotation , a little time but a peace of cake.. Thanks to this site I learned a lot and where to get what I need. Thanks All

I found with the adventure high bars I was able to get rid of my rox risers. I can't say I'd recommend running them both together unless you have shorter arms than I do.... My dress shirt size for ref is 18 1/2 neck, 32-33 arm. I don't wear dress shirts very often because of that.
