I’m wanting to lower and move my handlebar forward. I’ve added risers and reversed them to get them forward but of course that raised them.

Swapping handlebars is an option but I’m lost on aftermarket picks and hate to be drilling holes for the bar ends and such.
Does anyone know if the FJ09 or other Yamaha bars would swap out and meet my needs of being lower?

Some of you may wonder “WTF is he doing?” Basically due to low back issues I need to flatten my back out and lean forward some.
Thx.

You need to learn handlebar geometry so you can choose the right bars.

Its possible that a bar with less rise and less pull back may help you get closer to what you want:

You also have to be careful what fits the Super 10 without banging the gas tank. (ask me how i know).

I have the same issues as you - i went with the pro taper raptor ATV High bar. it clears the gas tank, and it worked well. (You'll have to drill a couple of holes in the bar if you want to keep the stock switch gear locating/anti-rotation pins operative.)

the stock bars caused shoulder and back pain. too much sweep for me.

FWIW.

What's it like without the risers in place? The FJ09 bars are narrower than the Tenere bars, but they mount up with a little less space for the controls as I recall.

I haven’t yet made a test ride but I might have achieved my goal with a different set of risers.
I had to remove the handguards which I expected anyway but my bars are 2” fwd and only 3/8 higher. Feels good in the saddle.

I’ll have the set I bought from @gunny back up for sale.
