hi I own a 16 es. I would like to have the handlebars closer to me. I would like bar backs not rox risers if possible. due to the way the stock handlebar holders are set up being the 1 1/8" curved cradle is on a angle. can the holders nuts be loosened in the upper tree and turn the holders? then bolt on the bar backs and align the handlebars in the cradles ? would this work reply makntraxs@aol.com thanks

I'm not quite sure I understand your question, but if I have it right- you will likely end up with control cables that need to be re-worked and re-routed.

It's sort of considered to be in poor taste to post to a forum and ask people to respond to your email.

I understand what you are considering. You want to use up/back risers and not pivoting risers. Up/back risers are offered for the Gen I bikes. Rox has some 1 1/4" up and 1 1/4" back versions. I used them on my '12 S10. The OEM risers are an angled design. I don't know if you could bolt the Gen I version or other bar backs to the Gen II risers, which would put the bar area at the wrong angle, then rotate the OEM risers to correct. The OEM risers do not appear to be keyed in the bushing and should rotate, but I don't know if the bolt holes will line up on the bar backs intended for Gen I bikes, when you attempt to fit them to your Gen II bike.

This style is listed for Gen I Super Tens, but specifically says not for Gen II and points to the pivoting style of Rox risers. LINK

Because of the angle on the OEM risers, what typically occurs when you try to use the wrong Gen style is that the rounded portion of the new part is not fully supported in the stock clamp.

I think that for your stated needs, the Helibar riser will do what you want better and is designed to fit your bike. It's more expensive at $150, but is a direct fit and does what you want. Note in the pictures that you can see how the rounded part that fits where the original handlebar went is angled significantly.

I removed the bars and lossened the bar holder nut. the bar holders can be rotated to accommodate any bar riser/bar back with correct bolt pattern

Post some pictures of what you end up using. More info for the forum is always a good thing.
