As everyone knows, U.K. has left the EU, I am posting a link to an article from the BBC News website today which outlines just one of the ways this will be affecting us in U.K.

FUNNY enough,

this is how bad it will be i was going to buy a DAINESE D-AIR vest 2 weeks ago £569 in the uk, i have bought stuff before from MOTOCARD in spain if i had bought it 2 weeks ago it was £470 with free delivery no tax, when i asked on new years eve it was £470 plus £30 postage and when i checked .GOV.UK it was also going to be taxed so same price as uk
but before brexit £100 cheaper no worries but its happening now i used to buy a lot over the yrs italy germany etc but now gotts think

To explain how to install the extensions, I present a few photos and a photo of the most important dimensions of the cover.

hi Synk.

can i ask in the 5th picture the extension looks like it sits down flush on the hand guard on the outer edge where you have 2 yellow hi viz stickers nice,
but in picture 4 it looks like it does not sit flush and a big gap is there

The yellow one was the "test version" of the extension, with a different bend radius - the closure of the "hood" was tested by multiple trials and prints. I also prepared a CAD file for a differend test version, even longer than this one - but never printed and published. Yellow collour, on the other hand, is better for demonstration.

Deftoner use last (released) version of the extender - yellow is only for demonstration.

on the 3~rd picture - I'm working on bottom guard extender :)

The issue with extending vertically downwards is the wind can still whip back up, might be worth look at extending horizontally under the grip.

Hi Rob, interesting, wonder why, didn't think there was a difference between the z and ze that would mean they are different. External fit looks better and probably adds a bit more protection I guess although probably adds another couple of inches in width not that it matters I guess.

yes,

i prefer the fit on the gen 2 2014 ones where it comes around and fits outside the bar end, it gives better protection looks wise the gen 1 version is showing the bar end different,
i wounder why the gen 2 will not fit a gen 1

Have you used different bolts, see the fixing down at the handlebars is with a countersunk bolt but as I have a spacer like in your photo the bolts that come with it look like they will be too short.

Can't see why the gen 1 won't fit the gen 2 unless the bars are a different rise and width that's all I can think of. My bikes a gen 2 will have to count my pennies and see if I can get some, do look good, look better on a moving bike haven't had my s10 out in ages, been on the blood bike but holding that off as the jump in numbers is making me nervous.

asked the seller of the 2 ebay ones above and he says the 2014 ones that look a better protector will not fit a 2013 bike thats why there are 2 versions.
yep living in wales with all these lockdowns as well 2020 was shocking i did 1800 miles compared to my usual 7-8000 miles

The metal guards are interesting enough to have their own thread if somebody wants to start one.
Let's try to keep this thread to what Synk has.
thx
