Gen I US bikes have a known speedo error of around 9%. I also put a Speed-O-Healer with gear indicator on my 2012 Super Ten. Gen II US bikes are almost perfectly accurate on the speedo, but Canadian and EU bikes are still off, though usually only 3-5%.

Apparently Yamaha USA listened to our bitching and got something done about it for the Gen II bikes. Yamaha Canada couldn't care less, because everyone knows you Canadians never leave the country, right? (Someone needs to clue your DOT guys in about dual km/mile needs too, but then you still let the Quebec'ers get away with single language French signs when the rest of the country does dual language signs..., so you have a big problem with standardization.)

I just filled up with 19.93 litres of unleaded, with 238 miles showing on the trip meter, including 36 miles on the count up gauge (Gen 1 bike) , I make that 54 MPG. Was mostly motorway use on that tankful, 70-85MPH ish.

The 3 litres remaining would suggest a range of 260-270 at this pace.

On my recent trip in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, 3200 km (2000 mi)
The total for the trip is 22,8 km/l (53,62 mpg, same as Boris) And of course loaded for camping...
Up and down mountains, 80 km/t (50 m/h) roads, a little highway, and of course town riding.
So, almost every kind of driving.

Ridden in similar style the Super Tenere fuel mileage is on par with the BMW GS (I have owned both). As far as overall range is concerned the Super Tenere has an advantage compared to the GS but not as good as the GSA. While riding the S10 (Gen 2) I didn't plan on looking for gas until I had at least 250 miles on the tank.

Overall reliability and peace of mind easily go to the Yamaha.
