Just got home from visiting a dealer in Denver who has a demo SuperTen for today and Saturday. All I can say is AWESOME!!!! Virtually everything positive I have read so far was confirmed in just 30 minutes of "hands on" with this wonderful machine!

There is no doubt in my mind that I have made a great choice.

I tried the seat in both positions and can "almost" flatfoot with it in the high position (wearing my MC boots). I have about a 31" inseam. Handlebar position was great. Instruments were easy to read - not "busy". Started it up and it sounds great. "Throaty" is a good description of the sound. The bike "feels" lighter than it's weight and seemed lighter than either the DL650 or DL1000 that I owned in the past.

We are in for a treat come May 2011!!!!!

Glad to hear you like it so much. Having experience with the DL650 and DL1000, how would you say the seating / handlebar ergos compare with the Tenere? Was the seat in the low position?

Ergos were very similar. One of the first things you will notice is how massive the handlebars look - diameter wise. I'd guess they are about 1.25" diameter. The windscreen seems farther away than on the DL. Perhaps more like I remember from when I owned a R1150GS. I'm guessing the Waspworks adjustable mount for the screen will be a welcome addition. I first sat on it with the seat in the low position. EASY reach to the ground. I then put it in the upper position (easy do - just like my FJR) and tried it again. I think I will like the upper position best.

I came to the same conclusion when I sat on one in Houston, but it was a EU model with USA skin and no battery.

If It had started I would have had a hard time not pulling in the clutch and pushing down with my left foot………… :)

Is it May yet?

Nice! The observations you made about the feel and weight, as well as being able to flatfoot on either seat height position were the things I was worried about the most. Hmm...maybe I'll be putting down a deposit before the IMS in Chicago.

Thanks!!!!

It was BLUE - just like the one I have ordered!!!!!! My FJR is the Raven Black (which is a great color - lots of metallic), but I just wanted something different for the SuperTen. This was the first time I had seen the Impact Blue in person and I was very impressed. Again, lots of metallic like the Raven.

Make sure you post your thoughts on it when you see it at the Chicago show.

:)

I was in talking to my dealer today (he's ordered one for himself too) and he may get a demo bike here for us sample before ours arrive. I got the Raven since my '06 FJR is Cobalt Blue. Can't wait to get it, May won't be here soon enough. :'(
