Hi,

Anyone managed to have a good way to mount a go pro in front of the bike? I have the Ram mount for the handlebar but I don't want the camera to turn with thr handlebar or to get an view obstructed by the dash/windshield...

Many thanks

I have " built " my own bracket.
Easy to access and see if the camera is on or not...View attachment 90786View attachment 90787
Thanks. Being on the handle bar means it will move around with the steering. I wanted something fixed around the headlight for instance of the side fairing...the issue with the side fairing is that their 1/4 turn nuts are not strong enough

Can’t disagree with that, but if your windshield gets dirty won’t your camera lens get just as dirty? I figured the wind shield is easier to clean then the lens. That’s why I put it where I did

Correct. A slight dirt or dust on the windshield creates a lot of light reflections or poor video quality while it is not necessarely the case for my gopro that I still can clean with a wipe of a finger. Plus I use the latter only on specific trails while my windshield collects the dirt constantly and in my case cleaning it up requires a dedicated product (not just water)

Ram makes plenty of mounts that clamp to bars of various diameters. If you have crash bars engine guards, they should have a bar that crosses from one side to the other under the headlamp. Just buy the appropriate-diameter clamp from Ram and mount the camera there.

That makes sense, I’m still learning how to use mine so your input helps me
Thanks

Yes I tried it but the cable to connect the the gopro to power constantly becomes a bit messy...plus I get only half of the scene ... see for instance this short footage

If you mount it in the middle of the crossbar that passes below the headlight, the camera will be centered, and won't be blocked by the bike, other than maybe a bit of the front fender at the bottom. Plus, you'll have a much shorter cable run.
