I just ignored Fred but the majority of his post were something he could ask a cop about. Some kind of injustice to him.
Some California stature that he would blow out of proportion. His first post he bagged on Baja Designs about a light that has a lifetime warrantie before calling the company. I think we figured out Freds true colors.
What set me off is many, if not all, of his Rider Clinic posts were him describing some incident that occurred while he was riding, then telling us how he got out of it, but never realizing he caused it to begin with. And a complete refusal to learn anything new. He just wanted everyone to pat him on the back. Much of what he stated as facts were wrong, and when I sent him a link documenting that he was wrong, even on something as clear as lane splitting laws in CA, he refused to acknowledge that he didn't understand and should stop claiming things to be so. (The CA lane splitting bill passed the house, but went to senate and was pushed into committee, but he was claiming it was passed into law.)

I honestly believe he thought he was correct on everything he posted. But he seldom was, and couldn't accept that he should at least do some research before claiming his BS. That he constantly attempted to back up his claim with off the wall snippets from anywhere he could find, instead of listening to others here, was more than annoying. Humorous at first, that if he had read the entire study he snipped some bit from he would have seen it's conclusions were contrary to what he was trying to claim. Just got old with him always attempting to prove false statements or support what he believed, regardless of even his own personal experience that ran contrary to his stated belief.

This thread was no doubt his attempt to get someone to say "oh, don't go, please stay". Instead he got a few polite comments and the rest of us not sorry to see him go. I would not be surprised if he responds to this post, having still not actually left, just lurking.

Well, he was last online 20 minute ago. That tells you something, doesn't it?

Saw he was on ADV, and he thinks this forum"s bad?
::008:: On occasion this site can be like drinking from a school drinking fountain with the pressure turned up a bit too high. ADV can be like drinking from a fire hose. Good luck with that one.

Fred - we know you're reading. Do yourself a favor and forget about the adventure bike related forums. Check the Harley forums. Probably some kindred spirits over there.

Man, you guys can be brutal. What started as some pushback from EricV (probably deserved) quickly turned into a full-on lynching. Trust me, I'm not a particularly tolerant person, but this place is way too monolithic. People on the fringes are driven away pretty quickly. FredBBG is/was an avid life-long rider and active poster. What's not to like? He definitely has a different take on things, but on this forum I'd take his contributions any day over the usual drivel.

I disagreed to some degree with almost everything Fred posted, but I enjoyed reading his posts anyway. He's a character. Give him a break - he works in Hollywood, what do you expect? We can't all be former motocross or flat-track racers.

Disagreement and pushback, debate, even getting a little nasty at times is fine and healthy, but outright banishment is a bit extreme, don't you think? Most guys here are husbands and fathers and sons, real people, good people. You boys should be ashamed of yourselves! Lower your expectations a little and exercise some patience. Otherwise the human race will disappoint you every time.

FredBBG - You're welcome here any time in my book, brother. Screw all the haters! Kite-surfing off a Super Tenere is about the coolest damn thing ever!! ::008::

Nobody here banished Fred, so why make him out to be a victim of something? Fred banished Fred. Fred voiced a lot of strong opinions ,which is fine, but he also engaged in ad hominem attacks on others, and he's apparently decided that he doesn't find being on the receiving end of those attacks to be nearly as much fun as delivering them. That's his call.

Far as I know, Fred's not banned and can come back here any time he wants. But if you're going to call people names, impugn their intelligence, competence, and/or abilities during a discussion, why would you be at all surprised when someone hands it right back to you, or that they wouldn't feel bad if you left the forum? You reap what you sow. If you invest your argument with personal contempt for the people you argue with, can you really expect civility to be the return on your investment?

Man, I stepped away for a month or two and missed some of this. At least I got to see this blow down. Anyone have a hard start recently?

Dead idle recently but not a hard start like this>>>> http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=2149.0

The thing about Liberalism is, an opinion seems to be a one sided opinion and if that opinion is not 100% agreed on they just start talking louder, faster and with even more aggression till it turns into anger.
Like some spoiled little Teenage girl. ::009::
I recently parted ways with a good friend (so I thought) of 10 years based on this arrogance and self righteous blame game tactic.
I resisted from being pulled into his one sided political opinion trap conversation (Dick Cheney George Bush Yada Yada)!
 (He didn't like my reply of "Dude relax pop another IPA and turn the steaks, we got more riding tomorrow"..
He flipped out packed his camp gear and left, never to be seen again!!
Now that is sad as I liked the guy as well, funny SOB had some good riding miles and camp outs together.
This happened once before but to me it was the last enough was enough!
Adios Mi Amigo........ ;)
