Sorry, guys. I live in a more temperate climate, but many of the folks who deal with the winter chill have better roads to ride when the cold retreats.

For Rem, years ago I was working in Tok Junction Ak when the local cold weather record was set, minus 70 something. That intense cold brings on a whole 'nother set of problems...

Started raining tonight. Glad I did not ride to dinner.

That's pretty crisp. Why, I remember having to walk 7 miles through snow and wind and ice to school, barefooted, and then ….. but I digress. I think Snag, Yukon still holds the record at minus 84 or so. I was out camping on the Peel River one time back in the1980's when it got down to -52. We were doing a dog sled/snowmoble thing. We were set up for it mostly …. but you're never really set up for minus 52. I was a much younger man then, but it sure makes you realize just how tough the old boys were who pioneered up here. I'm no longer that fond of cold weather. I cheat and stay inside and wear warm clothing and stuff like that. Even my Kubota is heated. Screw that. OK, you boys who can ride, ride. Those you can't, despise those who can. ::014:: Only 5 more months until riding weather. ::008:: Let's be careful out there. R

You could move to Calgary and hang out with the good guys and only 4 months to good riding. Its only -22 with a foot of snow right now, so not too bad!

That's Celsius, right? Isn't that like 30 Fahrenheit?

What's the problem? I thought you were tougher than that.

Oh, PUH-SHAW !!!!!!! Minus 25 is minus 13, for you uninformed types. And as far as being tough …. well ….. OK, so I'm a wimp. There was a time, but …… I was cold once. I didn't care for it. R ::012:: ::003::

That's plenty chilly, especially considering it's still autumn.

Back in January I took the family, including my daughter's boyfriend, to my Upstate NY hometown. It was -7F during that visit. The boyfriend was so amazed to see temps below 0F that he just had to go outside to say he experienced it. That lasted about as long as you would expect. :D

Stay warm, Rem. Winter is coming soon.
