As part of a 7 month location based Tour I take part (but alas haven’t completed yet!) in every year - the #GrandTourOfGeorgia - this year the ‘locations’ are a ride in itself.

On Sunday, the GTGA took me to a stretch of North Georgia mountain roads I had not got the opportunity to ride before. Green valleys, long straights, sweeping curves, tight bends, and a odd few hairpins.
Just one word: Curvilicious!

The SuperTenere riding on Motoz Tractionator GPS Tires handled excellently - as it does.
Made for a perfect Sunday afternoon's ride up North Georgia.

My first ride out for the #GrandTourofGeorgia (GTGA) 2018. A few of the location segments are in the North Georgia mountains and closest and thus easiest to get to.
But along the way lies a nice network of Forest Roads (dirt tracks, gravel tracks) through the Chattahoochee - Oconee Forest area.
Most popular ones being the ones which hook up to Nimblewill Church Road just off Hwy 52.

Soon after the Forest Roads Ride, I hit asphalt and headed to Vogel State Park via Stonepile Gap and Turner’s Corner.

The stretch between Turner’s Corner and Vogel State Park is one of favorite runs. Long sweeping turns, two lanes, banking, sharp bends leading into single lane going back down. Very easy to drag your pegs on the turns.

Find the rhythm, take the turns, Big Cheesy Smile!

Using GoPro’s built in speed tracker as a kinda benchmark of comfort level on gravel / stone tracks. Slow initially and then as confidence and comfort grew, big ear to ear smile.

Open to any comments / thoughts from the veterans on this board. Learning; to improve.

Saturday | Chattahoochee FS Roads Ride
Total 160miles of which - around 75 Miles offroad.

Getting confident on the ST off road. The bike makes it easy for the most part. Still a sharp learning curve on the switchbacky turns on a downhill with water / mud and swirly bits settle. Lose momentum and very tentative.

Lot to learn still. But smiles all through the miles. And the beige color on the bike after the ride - it’s a beautiful thing!!

Rode a 200mile round trip around North Georgia Mountains. Cleveland - Hiawassee - Bell Mountain Young Harris - Blairsville - Wolf Pen Gap - Suches - Dahlonega.

Perfect riding weather. Rode with a friend who moved from a Harley SoftTail to a 2015 ES SuperTenere.

After leaving Suches around 2pm, while traveling down to Dahlonega - after Woody Gap - we crossed a Gray Super Tenere - riding 2-up, heading towards Suches. Anyone from this group? We were Two Teneres , Blue leading with Red following.
