Just tried ordering Outback bags and rack from Motostorm.it and at checkout is says no shipping Givi to USA. What is that all about? Seems a lot of people have ordered from these guys in the past.

I just a set on, they take thier own type of rack, which is made for those bags. I like them 37 on one side and a 45(7) on the other.

Just a heads up. It took almost two months to get my system from twisted throttle as Givi was not shipping them into the country.

I ended up getting my order cancelled from motorama, so reordered with motostorm. Ordered the 37s, mounting rack and crash bars. It took 2 weeks to ship, but all should be here Monday. Christmas in June.

I ordered mine through Motostorm on the 29th and just cleared customs with a phone call. Cases should be here tomorrow!
I got two 37L sides and a 58 top, with the rack, backrest and matching keys. Turns out I'll be taxed on the rack and keys, but only 2-4%.
Altrider rear rack arrived last friday.

Well suck me sideways - just got them delivered. Unbelievable. 24 hours ago they were in Italy, now I have them. I did have a question directly from FedEx asking what they were, their use, etc. which i was able to get right back to them yesterday.

make sure you check the weatherstripping on the lids, as mine were crooked and twisted. straightend out no problem.

I ordered my my 37/48 bags, 58 topcase and both racks. Took 10 days to get to my door step. Thanks Motorstorm.it I do have a question to those who are running the 42 or 58 topcase. My topcase makes squeek/rattle when hitting bumps. Kinda drives me crazy. I tried the extra rubber feet that came with the topcase but they are too tall and my case wouldn't secure to the rack.

Any thoughts on how to get rid of the noise? Thanks

I had the exact same experience with my 42L top using the taller rubbers - no go. Ended up putting the lower profile ones back in. I got rid of about 75% of the squeaky noise by lightly lubing each bumper and the forward mounting pegs with a thin film of silicone grease (silicone won't attack the plastic or rubber bits). The remaining rattle seems to be originating from the lower release lever. I may look into putting some sort of foam weather stripping in a strategic spot or two if there's room not to interfere with normal operation of the latch.

I used some 1/4 rubber mat to pad out underneath the case. A small strip about an inch wide running full width across the black plastic base did the trick. A bit of a squish fitting the case for the first couple of times, but soon beds in.

Thanks for the tip. I will give that a shot.

On another note. I received an invoice from FedEx for $87.65 for duty fees. I looked around here and found the proper tariff number and called them. They corrected the "error" and I owe nothing.

Same problem here so I put the new taller rubbers in the rear and lower ones in the front next to the latch but after a few months the taller ones squish down a bit so I have just put two taller ones in the rear and the now squished ones in the front and the topbox will now lock, just! ::015:: will see if that gets rid of the rattle tomorrow.

Well that worked and got rid of rattle but for some time now I have had a bungee on the top bars because they rotate and rattle, just to make sure I took bungee off and rattle came back, refitted it and no rattle ::012:: see picture

Somebody buy my three key set and topcase back pad. I know someone out there needs these parts. New in unopened packaging.

A warning on these cases from 1 year of use: they are not waterproof and per Givi were not designed to be. If you have these cases or are looking to buy them, I advise lining the inside edges of the case with a sealant like clear silicone.

I took these cases on a 2 week trip at the end of August and water got into the cases from the bottom corners after riding in rain for a few days. I sent the cases in for warranty claim, but got the below response from Givi earlier this week:

"Just wanted to let you know that your cases were extensively water tested and they passed within the parameters of which they were designed. Since the cases are technically not “water tight,” they may get a very tiny bit of water in them from time to time when exposed to heavy rain. When we tested yours, they were sprayed for a very long time. One case had some condensation on the inside, and the other had maybe a teaspoon worth in the bottom. There again, this is normal since the cases were not designed to be completely water tight."

This is disappointing considering how much these cases cost and the fact that water leaked in through the bottom of the case which should be sealed from the factory. I still like the cases overall and it's an easy remedy to apply silicone to seal it off, but we shouldn't have to do this if these were properly sealed from the factory. I avoided TraX boxes because I heard of the waterproofing issues on earlier cases.

These cases are only 1 year old and were never dropped or beat on. So if you have these cases, be sure to apply extra sealant so you don't end up with wet contents.

Good information. I don't have the outback side cases but my outback top case has kept the contents dry in at least three rainstorms, one of them torrential for 30+ minutes. So you are recommending more or less caulking all the corners and seams on the inside when you say "lining"?
