Yup, Sorry for the post if it's repeated. When I purchased the Yamaha it came with an additional 3 lock tumblers. I bought the Givi Trekker 37L side cases. Are the yamaha tumblers compatible with the Trekker locks. I would love to have 1 key fit all. I did a search and didn't find a definitive answer. Thanks in Advance.

I tried to fit my spare tumblers into a complete set of Givi's, and the drive square at the back of the Givi's is different to the OEM tumblers.

Lucky I got the GIVI matching 3 pack of tumblers with my pannier kit, so 2 keys are better than 4.

OK good to know, thanks. glad that I know what I have at hand. thanks.
As convenient as this would be, the factory Yamaha keys are junk. The metal is too weak and spirals easily just from regular use. I've had the same kind of key for 11 years, on my FZ6, FZ1, now Tenere (well Tenere has an immobilizer, whoop dee doo) and they have all worn causing difficult turning over time and spiralled. The Givi keys are super solid (well the new style ones, the old red keys were...), I have no worries about them. Wish Yamaha used a similar key.

Sounds good, one less thing to upgrade / fix. If I have to carry an extra key carrying two isn't that big of a deal. So do you guys still remove your screws on the back side and apply thread locker, or if you don't touch the OEM screws on the insinde you will be OK?

Also from watching videos to prepare for swapping tumblers, arent the screws going into plastic? would thread locker help in plastic??
