good point, but they're 100.00 + more.

This is how I look at it:

That gap will disappear the first time you drop the bike and the regular trekker breaks.

And what's $100 more on a $14,000 motorcycle, especially considering the number of years you'd use the cases.

Of course, YMMV. ::008::

Being top loaders should eliminate most if not all of the leakage potential.
If they had been available two years ago I would definitely have looked hard at them.

i think i'm still leaning toward the regular trekkers. i could save the extra cash for a larger windsheild.

One more thing to consider. Do you camp/do a lot of two-up trips or are you a solo tourer who uses hotels?

If it's the former the top loaders will be much more useful as you can lash gear to the lids and a large seat bag won't hinder opening them the way it will with side loaders.

If the latter the side loaders will probably provide enough capacity...

i do more camping than hotels. i don't do any overnites 2 up. the most i will do 2 up is day rides on occasion. I do have anice large bag that i strap to the seat so my trunk box is free for my helmet and other last minute items.
