GIVI pl cam rack for outback trekker panniers

Hi guys,

i have had the cam rack on my xt for about 4 yrs in the UK corrosion got at it so time to take off and get powder coated can i ask has any body taken that top cam section off and put back on, just woundering its only 2 bolts i think but worried about putting back on after the frames been powder coated and the pannier linning back up properly

Hi Rob, I haven’t removed and refitted mine but mine were 2nd hand and I did fit them myself. As far as refitting yours goes, from my experience, I can’t foresee any issues just as long as you are methodical with removal and refitting.

i don,t mean the rack mine were new and fitted the rack myself no issues but to re powder coat them the top cam section would have to be removed the frame powder coated then the cam section refitted but it would have to go back perfect for the top part of the pannier to lock to it

Hi Rob,
OK, now I understand. My racks came without the bolt on cam section but the cam section came with the Givi Dolomitis when I bought them. I didn’t have any issues, although I just nipped the 2 bolts up and fitted the boxes to make sure things lined up before tightening.
