Hello, it looks like you are running an aftermarket exhaust to me. I personally wouldn’t be comfortable with the exhaust pointing out to the rack and straight on the bracket. Is there a way that you can turn the exhaust or alter the direction away from the rack. If not, maybe consider mounting an original or different exhaust.

Regards.

As it is now, I expect you will destroy the coating on the steel parts the exhaust is blowing on. I am also concerned that the mounting plate and bags will reduce air flow enough to trap heat and distort the surrounding plastic parts

i agree with Stefan, the exhaust needs to be directed outwards and any thing you can do improve air flow through the area will help too

Thanks for your replies guys.

The steel rack came with the bike actually and has done thousands of Km without a problem, so I am not too worried about it.
I actually didn't know that the exhaust was second market, which makes sense because the noise is extremely loud and I was really wondering how it could have come with such a ruckus from the factory. Now it makes a lot more sense. I would prefer the original because the noise is unsupportable.

I revised the GIVI schematic and it says minimum 50mm (2 inches) from the exhaust. I guess it is very borderline, likely around 2 inches. Will have to monitor and see if the plastic starts to deteriorate. If it does, what can I do? Place spacers?

Since you don't care for the current exhaust noise, you might consider sourcing a used OEM exhaust and replacing it. That Givi rack was designed to be used with the OEM exhaust. Conversely, you could have an exhaust shop cut and weld a new, longer exhaust tip that will route directly up and out through the space between the rack and the bike.

Guess I'll start looking for an OEM, because this noise will ruin my ears. Thanks guys

You have a two bros black series exhaust. you should be able to get several hundred dollars for it on ebay or easily a straight trade for someone wanting the sound.

I have/had the same pipe on my s10 even with the extra baffle and a spark arrestor its still pretty loud.

Thanks man. It sounds great but on trips it just becomes a damn nuisance

UPDATE: Seems the plastics are competely fine with current setup. Metal bar in the back also does not heat up: It doesn't show great in the pic, but the outlet is only hitting it by maybe 10%

Friend, do you know if it's possible to install a DB killer on this two brothers exhaust?

Haven't taken it out of the garage yet, but I just tried to turn it on in in the garage after installing the P1X, and it is still very damn loud. Will see how it fares outside.

And, in case anyone's wondering, the racks are just fine; no lateral burning or melting. The P1X also helped to move the exhaust away from the steel rod, although it wasn't damaging it before either.

if you search online for" two brothers p1x " you should find the one you need
Update on the P1X, if anyone's interested: Huge improvement in noise when driving outside. The noise was unbearable, even cruising at 3000rpm and stable throttle caused massive noise and it would take me at least 2 hours of driving to "get used to it". Now, the noise is only high when accelerating -- which is desirable. Thanks!
