Last weekend after a day of pretty aggressive trail riding in North Georgia, on the way home I hit a patch of oil and some damp pavement causing me to low side at about 30 miles an hour.

Thankfully my skid plate and engine guard absorbed 100% of the damage, not even a scratch anywhere else on the bike, and all of my gear did it’s job as well and I came away with only a mild sprain on my (previously sprained) wrist.
After a careful inspection I jumped back on and rode 2 hours home. The following day I put the bike up on a lift and confirmed that it had no damage besides the guard itself.

Ironically, about a month ago I had a big drop on a trail and broke the center mounting point off the engine guard, so this one took the whole weight of the bike, and slid for almost 35 feet without collapsing only using the two exterior mounts.

I was really impressed with how the Givi guard performed and ordered an identical unit to replace the damaged on.

Woo-hoo!! You're still good and the bike is too. The guards are/were money well spent.

Most importantly, you did not get seriously injured!
Your Givis and ACD did their respective jobs quite well.
Looks like besides the oil and damp road your knobbies acted like knobbies on the slab.

Hi all. New to the forum.
A touch off topic, but does anyone know if the Givi guards are compatible with a SW-Motech skid plate on a Gen 2?
