Good video and I totally agree

I was so impressed with the Givi AirFlow on my Gen 1 that when I bought a Gen 2 I removed all the screen adjusting mechanism and fitted the AirFlow.

Works even better with winglets

Well, after 2.5 years of Gen2 SuperTen ownership and a few big trips and still getting no real satisfaction with the stock screen or the stock screen and adjustable lip, I came across the video in my first post on this thread. Now I had a Givi Airflow on my Gen 1 Kawasaki Versys 1000 for almost 5 years and it was very good although it never really enhanced the looks of the bike, it did grow on me. Still, handsome is as handsome does as they say and I have just had a Givi Airflow delivered for my SuperTen! I will report back as and when I get it fitted and some riding time under my wheels.

When I saw that fitting it was possible I was sorely tempted. Only the removal of the accessory bar which is part of the 2nd gen screen adjuster is putting me off doing it as I have my GPS and grip heater control mounted on it right now. I was wondering if the SW Motech GPS holder which clamps between the Gen 1 screen uprights would fit when the gen 2 adjusters are removed?

I tried my Garmin GPS mounted with a RAM Ball on the accessory bar once..... It vibrated so much that I feared for it ever working again. I bought the struts from here and tried them, but, to me at least, but, over the course of a 2000+ mile trip around Germany, it never restricted the movement sufficiently for me to be comfortable with the accessory bar mounting. I know others are more than happy with mounting theirs on the accessory bar, but mine is back on the handlebars alongside my Oxford heated grips controller.

I tried a RAM mount on the accessory bar and as you say it was up and down like a wh*res drawers. I found a mount that has no arm, just a plate that clamps straight to the bar with holes drilled for Garmin or Tom Tom mount, the inertia is less, so no wobbling now and that is without any bracing. Ignore the wires they were just zip tied up out of the way until i had time to fit the grips. 1613070907651.png

I use the SW Motech bracket that I had on my Gen 1

The only problem with this is that it partially covers the indicator warning lights

Since this photo was taken I've slightly modified the bracket by bending it slightly towards the front of the bike. The indicator reminders are now fully visible until you clip the Sat Nav into the bracket

SAT NAV BRACKET.jpg

They are not totally obscured and I can see a small section of the reminders. It doesn't really bother me because I can see the actual indicator flashing and I usually automatically turn the winkers off after I've completed a turn.

Well, I bought a brand new Givi Airflow from a Honda dealership that was having a clearance sale, so I got it at a pretty good price! I spent a satisfying 30 mins or so this afternoon removing the stock screen and the screen height adjustment mechanism and fitting the new Givi screen. I tried using the black plastic number plate nuts as spacers, but it appears the threaded screws are not long enough so I fitted the screen without any spacers and yes, it does touch at the bottom but it is nice and solid. I just need to test ride it now!

I've been a big fan of Givi Airflow screens for a while, starting with one on my Versys 1000 and now have one on my S10 but with Touratec adjustable brackets for a MKI. I've also tried the old Versys Airflow on the S10, it is a bit wider so better for colder weather.....but have not done a lot of that this winter of course.

It might be ugly to some but it works for me and that is far more important than looks.

The S10 is definitively not the best looking bike in the world and the Givi AirFlow is function over form although I have no problem with it.

I have to agree, the Airflow won’t win any beauty contests but it is function over form and that is more important in the real world. Plus, I had one on my Kawasaki Versys 1000 for 5 years so I had plenty of time to get used to it!

I had a Madstad on my 800 Tiger. Its the only screen that works but people hated it. I thought it looked ok but as above was more interested in how it worked. On the S10 i have the biggest Puig screen i could get with an adjustable deflector on top. Works a treat.

Had my first opportunity to try out my new Givi Airflow screen today. Because we are limited to “essential” journeys due to the COVID pandemic, I took advantage to delivering my parents food, (they are both over 90 and my mother has Alzheimer’s), which I do twice weekly. I did a round trip of just over 50 miles on A and B roads and about 15 miles of motorway too. All I can say is the Givi is a revelation after a couple of years with Yamaha screens and adjustable deflectors. Even on it’s lower setting it is brilliant with the wind just hitting the top of my helmet no buffeting and raise it just an inch and there is barely any wind and no buffeting whatsoever. Handsome is as handsome does!

Well, after many more miles behind my Givi Airflow I have to say it is brilliant! I would go so far as to say it is even better than the Givi Airflow I fitted to my Gen 1 Versys 1000 and I think the looks of the Givi actually compliments the SuperTen and I never thought I would be saying that! Probably the best screen for the SuperTen

Just a point on fixing the screen. I believe they use plastic bolts so the screen can rip off and not take anything else with it thats why i left the plastic ones in.
