Been laid low for 4 months due to smashing my knee in a dirt bike incident. Doc fitted me with new jewelry, plate 9 screws and long process to walk again as the incident also ripped my hamstring muscles off the bone in my left leg. Didn't know if I could ride again but yesterday picked up my tenere from the dealer. Rims had to be replaced, cause I damaged them in the Tragic ride. I rode the bike home and to work in the rain and tentative as I was it put a smile on my face. Still limited in movement, like being able to stand on the pegs but I set myself a goal.
Put myself down for the Bridge to Bridge next year.Seven days to get from Melbourne to Sydney. Should be a cracker of a ride. Even if I take the easy path. Excited !

Ouch! And good for you! Yep, those first few steps are the hardest, and I hope you are getting physio? When recovering all I did was go to the garage and sit on the bike to see if I could get on. It just takes time. ::008::

Mate all the best getting back into the saddle (so to speak) ... rehab can be a bitch and it sounds like you did a decent job ;)

The Bridge to Bridge sounds interesting but unfortunately April always corresponds to my annual NZ work trip and so it's unfortunately out for me :(

Look forward to seeing you fully functional and back on the road soon ::001::
