So had my second ride out today on my new to me 2014 gen2 1200 SE and thought i'd play with menu system after bit of faffing i managed to kinda make my way though but i couldn't find the grip heater controls. I'd swear black is white that the dealer showed me them working , but they don't show up in the menu system at all does this mean they were never fitted and im was dreaming it had them.

Not a big deal if i don't have them just puzzled as to why she doesn't.

cheers

Only the ZE had heated grips, along with electronic suspension and a centre stand fitted as standard. I've managed to get my Oxford heated grips working through the menu though and I bit the bullet and bought the centre stand.

Do you remember to use the "second" button to switch menu?
There is this "second" button a bit further away, than the one you use to switch between the more "normal" menu, where temp, distance, trip time, range and so on, is shown

Not 100% sure i know what you mean i press Menu button and it comes up with suspension setting press again then it goes to preload i think 3rd press goes to trip meters. if i hold the menu button in it brings up a list starting with maintenance and ending in reset .. (which i have done twice i think) but no mention of the grip heater.

Was it a private sale or did you buy from a dealer and how long have you had it?
Just wondering if you can take it back and ask them to fix it, it may need a replacement heated grip for the menu to reappear which will set you back a couple of hundred £

Just look at your grips.
If they have wires coming from them you have heated grips. If you don't have wires then you don't.

This isn't rocket science.
Not quite as simple as that with a Gen 2, and since it's a ZE it should have them and they should work.

Where’d you get the centre stand Rob?

I got it from Bill Smiths in Chester, it comes as a kit with springs, sleeves and all fixings. For some reason they had it on their website with the wrong price on it (£149) but they let me have it for what it was advertised at rather than the £170. It wasn't old stock either as they had to order it in, but they've since corrected their price online. Also available at;
Genuine Yamaha Main Stand Kit XT1200Z Super Tenere (crescentmoto.uk)

Thanks for the response Rob - Crescent seems to be the only place I can find it too. It’s not cheap but a lot cheaper than the Hepco and Becker stand.

I would imagine any Yamaha dealer would be able to supply it at that price, they are easy enough to fit but those springs are a right bastard.
I've never been a fan of the H&B centre stands, they don't seem to "fit" the bikes quite like the OEM ones do which is the reason my MT01 has never had one.

Just a quick update , Managed to get the bike back to the dealers today , the right hand grip has no continuity they have ordered a replacement so hopefully that should sort it.
