My 660 and XT have been great and if it wasn't for the screen I would still be using the 660. For me the XT does everything I need and so much more. It's great.

Dude i dont know if you can do it where you are but in UK we can download that kind of streetview onto the XT
Thanks for the heads up. I probably can but I have always used Post It notes since I taught motorway lessons. Just that now I binned the string and use the google distance indicator.
1) Set 000
2) Complete distance, turn and tear off post it
3) Set 000
4) see 2

Any dodgy turnings on street view I commit landmarks, etc to memory and maybe a note or two

Never any probs with wayward satellites, tunnels etc... Thank you for your thoughts though, appreciated!

They all suck.
The zumo i had 10 years ago sucked and my brand new xt sucks for the same reasons:
However: Everything else sucks worse. So its still the best choice.
Garmin has been good to me over the years. When I started getting into GPS navigation seriously Base Camp was introduced and that was the game changer. The interface and options for traveling are nothing short of amazing albeit time consuming.

For enduros and dual sport events we always used roll charts. Those are becoming less and less and everything is going GPS. As much as I like it I still keep a paper map and use landmarks and points of reference for navigating.

Heck I'm still using my old 76CSX on my Beta.

That is my issue. The garmin sucks to interface with. You need to spend an hour with a different app to do what i can do in google maps in 2 minutes.

Just last night: Garmin cannot find my hotel by name. Cannot find it by address. Cannot find it. I am about to lose my shit when finally the garmin drive app is able to find it and i was able to send to my xt.

I know it's not what you want to hear but there is a workaround for that. Simply punch in the google earth coordinates into the GPS to find a point of interest that cannot be otherwise found. GPS is not a perfect technology by no means.

Even google maps has its own set of issues.

So yesterday I left home at 3pm in the rain and 45 degrees, at 1am I arrived in Kansas City and checked into a motel, a nice long hot shower warmed me up. I had updated the Zumo XT about a month ago and after the update that little red indicator that always points north had disappeared, I had called Garmin tech about it but the person I talked to wasn’t much help but since I was so close to their headquarters I decided to take a ride over there, wow the place is HUGE ! They used to do tours but because of COVID-19 they don’t do them right now, I definitely would like to tour the place someday.
So I find the service department and they actually had a Zumo XT like mine on display and on that unit the little red north indicator was there and working fine. So I walk up to the service counter and tell two guys working there about my issue, at first one of them was trying to tell me there never was an indicator like that on the XT but the other guy said there was and he was going to show me how to get it back, so after a lot of monkeying around they couldn’t get it back so they make some phone calls and find out that little indicator was removed intentionally in the last update, they have had a few complaints but unless a lot more folks complain it will most likely never come back.
Also updated my Zumo 595 the same day and that little red direction indicator is still working fine.
