I have a virtually brand new MCCT, it was installed and then pulled. I mean it’s new except for those five minutes. $175 free shipping lower 48

For the person who buys it. I’ll offer a “walk through” to answer questions on the install

I have one uninstalled, had to go out and look at it. I was thinking the oil port could be restricted with a drilled set screw, but that doesn't seem to be the case. If the oil port is free flowing to the crankcase I would think it needs to be restricted. It appears in the above video diagram that oil pressure is used for the oem unit, I don't have one out to look at, whether it restricts the oil and allows some to pass through to the crankcase or dead heads would determine what needs to be done. I have noticed other MCCTs made specifically for the tenere don't have an oil passage, maybe they know something. I need to look at an oem piece, that would resolve my indecision. Maybe Tabasco will chime in and correct me, us, and whoever before the internet rumor mill gets ahold of this at the moment assumption. And maybe this graves piece doesn't allow enough oil through for the oil pressure to drop significantly, though from the looks it would be a pretty big oil pressure leak. If I were to add a restriction I would choose one of the smallest drill bits I have and use a brass set screw, preferably.

Does that make it clear as mud? :)

And we're really f...ing up his for sale ad.

Go here and look at the pics on post #68, keep in mind it is from 2013 ish and things have a way of maturing without notice. Oil spillage into the chain guide cavity looks like a non issue in comparison.
The intentional spillage is supposed to mimick the factory leakage and to avoid over oiling the intake cam in high rev engines if the head drilling is blocked off, the S10 is very unlikely to suffer from that problem.
I personally don't like using an o-ring to seal on threads but I do have two examples here in the garage that don't leak. One oil and one gasoline. It is not a design element I would propagate professionally.
The flow of oil across the composite gasket material is less than elegant, if there is gasket fibre erosion where does it go? but that is really being nit picky and not a show stopper in the S10.
Go to Graves website, you will see the S10 is specifically mentioned in the use list for the CMY-13R1-PCT manual tensioner as of today Sept 02, 2024.
I do not have one installed, I'm still on the original hydraulic unit so all of the above is from reading and not from personal experience.
It would be nice if a long time user would share longevity experience to help ally your, us, whoever fears.
BTW the cross dressing episode you mentioned in post #10 was supposed to be secret. That blouse in the photos was stunning on you.
All the best.

I've read that article before. Notice in the pic of the oem cct, the flat spot would be on top and the oiling outlet has been clocked accordingly. And I am curious about the cross drilling with the plug, and is there a restrictor installed or what is the channel size. As tight as yamaha is they don't do anything for shits and giggles. The graves piece outlet is on the side, the cct is inclined when installed but not on top like the oem piece. So Tabasco could be correct, the oiling outlet would be important in oiling the chain or tensioner. And as for over oiling the intake cam lobe, well, I thought I had heard it all but guess I am still getting educated. I do know when internal oiling is not controlled things can go south in a hurry, and there are also many who are using this on the tenere, so....

Having had the OEM CCTs out and reset a few times I’m of the impression that the oil is used to make sure the CCT plunger is well lubed and that the mechanism is kept free so the spring will always push the plunger out against the chain guide as needed. I don’t think the hydraulic pressure of rhe oil is used to define the tension as the “seal” seems very/too loose if that were the purpose.
