Hey all.
I have a question. I rebuilt my forks with new springs and am in the process of putting it all back together.

When i put the front wheel on and tighten it down is the black speed sensor supposed to be tight where it doesn't move or should it be allowed to rotate a little?

The ABS speed sensor is captured on the fork leg. When you install the wheel, the black round sensor plate's notch should line up with the nub on the fork. Otherwise it will rotate and quickly damage the sensor wire.

As Eric says, line it with the fork leg but it should be tight w/o any movement once the axle is tightened. The inner race / bearing stack up / width between the fork legs is set with the RH & LH spacers and sensor cover.

Well,
It is official. i did not have the speed ring positioned correctly and the wire was rubbing on my rotor. Stupid rookie mistake. Now I can feel a flat spot on the cable and the bike is now throwing a 69 code. looks like i will purchase a replacement. $85.00 lesson learned.
