So, I'm a long time motorcycle guy & especially Yamaha's! My buddy owned an '09 ST that was blue. The bike had front brakes that had gold accents in the caliper. My 2003 FZ1 has blue accents in the caliper but my FZ1 is the Yellow & Black (Bee) color. These calipers are the same for both machines. We were supposed to trade but the knucklehead traded the bike in and forgot to tell me. ☹ So, I just wanted to check to see if any of the Tenere crowd here with a blue bike would be interested in trading front calipers. You'd get blue accent ones to match the Tenere & I'd get gold accent ones for my FZ1. Check pics. The gold ones will look STELLAR with my aftermarket gold wheels! I'll pay shipping for both packages! Thanks in advance!

there are loads of calipers with gold on ebay, but it would mean you,d have to sell yours so probably mote expensive than a swop, but i can,t see anybody on here pulling calipers off and posting just to get blue ones.

best of luck tho

Wouldn't be easier/cheaper to order just the parts you need, and switch them out? I've always assumed that those parts screwed in/out. I'm guessing you're in the UK, and your friend had an early 2010 T-12 that was registered in '09? 'Cuz there weren't any '09 T-12s.

Yeah, I could order the caliper and swap. But, I would indeed have to order the entire caliper. I could check Fleabay and just sell mine, I suppose. I found the USA Georgia thread here & inquired there as it's way easier for a local guy to knock this out & then go riding afterwards. I do all of the work, so that's easy.

My buddies ST was a 2012 I believe. I'm old enough that I get things mixed up from time to time in my noggin! I've owned several FZ1's since they came on the scene in 2001 & I always thought those accents weren't removable. Not the first and definitely not the last time I was wrong.

Also, possible other option........ You can have the calipers powder coated any color you want. A good powder coater will have a TON of colors to choose from.......

True. On my 1988 FZR400/600, I swapped the front calipers with Triumph ones made by Nissin that are 4 pot & work much better. We ground the raised TRIUMPH logo off and then my buddy powdercoated them red. I was just hoping for a local Tenere guy to possibly help out. Worth a shot! Really prefer the anodized look to match the wheels. More of a want than a need, obviously! Not a show bike. I ride every chance I get!

yes those colour bits do screw in and out to. . . .
So, do a "two fer". Unscrew the bits, paint 'em or whatever, and take the opportunity to flush your brake fluid. I know I'm always behind on flushing mine.
