Just found both my seals leaking on my 2014ES. 31k miles on it. Was prepared to do the job myself but figured....WTH.....let's see what YES will do with it. Swung by on with her to show it to the service manager at the dealer. He snapped some photos, sent an email and said he'd get back to me. He kinda prepared me for the worst and said if it was one they would usually do it but both might be pushing it...he did say multiple times that YES is very easy to deal with as compared to Honda's extended stuff.....

Just got word that my YES extended warranty will cover both. Most of it is how the shop presents to Yamaha I think.

Got a new set of Shock Sox ready to install the second I get the bike back. Didn't run those but did have those lower fork seal guards that deflect most of the stuff....wasn't enough apparently.

Mine has done nearly 34000 miles, I don't have a seal problem but I thought I would give my new Seal Doctor a go. I droped the dust covers and inserted the SD in the right hand seal and oil squirted out. I was not expecting that so I cleaned off the oil, then the chrome on both legs and put the dust covers back. The forks stayed dry after pumping them 6/7 times. Is that oil comeing out ment to happen?

I couldn't agree more. Mine both covered under YES at 71k. I prepped dealer before they contacted Yamaha. Service chart doesn't have an interval for replacement. I asked if my bike was 2 weeks old would it be covered, answer was a quick yes. So what is coverage period then, they couldnt answer. Not a wear item in manual. My bike was 2 years old at 71k when replaced. Currently at 134k and zero leaks. But YES until end of this year so I might be back again.

my left fork seal let go on good Friday eve 800km away from home, now chance of getting it fixed so that ended my trip to the Simpson desert .I have about 65000 km on the bike but its been sitting for about 6 months with the dirt from the last ride still on it, so my fault I think:(
