Fork an shock spring upgrade

Good morning guys,

I think what I am looking for is too specialized. I was unable to find it doing a search so here goes

I weigh about 270 and my girlfriend is tiny. We do ride 2 up often but I ride alone more. I am looking to invest some money in my bike and fork oil seals and fork and shock spring replacement is in the works too.

So my question would be, for my riding needs, what would you guys recommend me using for springs?

I'd suggest calling one of the suspension companies which you'd likely get the spring from. For them or a better answer here, it would help to know:

Which model are you on?
How many miles are on it?
What are you looking to have it set up for - highway and commuting? Loaded up touring? Weekend twisties?

Ok, thats a good place to start lol..

Its on a 2013 non ES (Obviously) with 19900 miles on it. I will be riding a mix of alone and 2 up with some luggage at some point and unladen twisties. I ride a little bit of it all. It probably wont see too much or too crazy dirt roads.

Who would be the "big players" in the shock spring market?

I agree with Checks,
you need to contact a few of the suspension specialists, Stoltec, racetech, Ohlins, etc. and talk to them about your riding habits and weight requirements.
They will all give you advice, on what you should change or adjust, and you can make your decision based on their knowledge, and your wallet.

You can give Terry a call at Norwest Suspension too. He is very knowledgeable and can set you up for a reasonable price. He will work your stock shock to convert it to rebuildable, adjust the shim stack, and respring to your loaded weight parameters. He has treated me well.

Ted is a stand up dude!
Depending on your intended use:
Yacugar for road bias
Tractive/touratech for off road.

I'm going with the Tractive for my AT.

Thank you for the suggestions. I do think I am buying the Touratech rear shock from the Beemer shop. I am also having them rebuild my front forks with heavier springs and some SKF oil and dust seals. Together with some shock Sox, I don't think they will leak again soon. (-;

I just upgraded the springs on my DR650 to excellent effect, so I suspect the S10 is getting new suspenders soon. I’m debating between getting a set of weight-specific springs vs. the progressive set that Touratech sells.

Anyone with experience with the Touratech progressive springs want to weigh in?

I just had my local bike shop (right next to my parts and apparel shop) do my front forks with some good seals and progressive springs and I absolutely love the ride. I am saving money for a touratech rear setup.
