Nice design. To bad it attaches to the rear axle. I never have liked the dynamics involved with putting 50-70 pounds of weight right on the axle shaft.

Are they somehow affiliated with the Moto-Mule folks? Looks very similar to their design.

Third Wheel Trailers also have axle mount trailers thirdwheeltrailers.com I don't like their new webpage but they make some fine trailers.

That picture strikes me as kinda odd. It looks like the suspension is at full compression, and I'll assume there is a pivot point concealed by the Rotopax? It also claims "tool-less" mounting....???? It also adds to the bikes unsprung weight.

Their fitment list does not mention the Tenere or the FJR, even though each has the hollow axle they call for. Plus, the bikes listed are smaller, so I'm wondering if our swing arms are too wide.

I tow quite a bit with a standard hitch and just finished a 1600 mile week. It puts up to 40 pounds (10% of trailer weight) on the back of the bike, but it's down low at the height of the ball. Usually don't know the trailer is back there and it's easier than a large passenger on the seat.

Not sure I'd want to hit rough roads with any extra tongue weight on the axle.

Like your trailer a lot and it fits my style of camping. Don't see many of them, for sale or on the road.

I think the last time I saw your trailer it was beside the Tenere in the opposite direction. I give you a lot of credit for staying with this trailer. Many of us would have stored or sold it. Had a friend that traveled with one one of these and he loved it. He drug it across the USA a half dozen times behind a Suzuki CT90. He said he was set up in ten minutes from the time he stopped.

And none on eBay or Craig's list.

Yea, wreckerchecker is stubborn that way.
He'll definitely get back on the horse that threw him. ::013::

I know him as kind of a Jekyll-Hyde fella.
Over here on YST, he's a true gent.

But when we're all outta view........well, lets just say I've seen his Jekyll aftermath. He's even been banned! ::012::

Back on tow track.............
There's a fella here on YST that I ran across pics of his Tenere in tow fashion. I knew I recognized the bike AND the name!
I like his tow rig so well that I'm heading to the Ozarks tomorrow to get one just like it!

It even has a bathroom. ;)
(Hope he doesn't object to me posting it. I edited out personal data)

I know I know. I got the horse\cart confused.

In summer months, Texas is about 200th down the list. The older I get, the more it drops in August.

But, that is why the wheel was invented!
When?

Well, actually I just got done throwing a toy in the back of the truck.

I'm supposed to meet family in Branson Missouri on Thursday. We're all RV'ing and they are expecting me to arrive with the teardrop and my coffee equipment.
(I make coffee. THEY make supper!!! I get the good end of this barter every time)

But I'm going to drive just north of Branson (stealth like) and pick up this little mini-toy hauler.

I need another RV like a hole in the head. I live in one, I travel in one, but this thing is just too much a bargain to pass up. Brand new it cost a few hundred bucks more than the KTM that I'm gonna test it with. It's crazy.

It's actually gonna be so much easier to load and unload bikes when I'm alone. And I gotta admit, being able to PEE in the middle of the night (I'm that old) is going to be a dream come true. Not having to get dressed might not even require being fully awake!. Barefoot even.

Glamour shot. (They never quite look this good, of course. And they are popped together with much less care and love than my little teardrop)

The Mini Mate's got at least 6-7,000 miles behind the bike, mostly on short trips to WV, but they've been from Canada and Maine to Florida. Occasionally tow it behind the F150. The box was on its side on that muddy road but you wouldn't know. It's pretty tough. The combo really gets people looking when the bike has the trailer and little yak behind it.

I've also got a 40" x 48" HF cargo trailer that tows behind both the truck and Tenere. No pics. It's modified with a longer tongue, has a tilt bed, collapsible trash box, and can be the emergency bike carrier with a removable 2x10 board. I want to build a removable bear-proof camper on it to go to James Bay in Canada and back up to Alaska next year. The camper is going to be an all diamond plate fold-up like an Aliner (no fabric) and if it works the way I hope then the Mini Mate will be sold.

Really like that Wolf Pup that Snake and NJ-Bill have, but am more of a minimalist and have a tall camper cap on the F150 which is better for stealth camping at the airport when there's a 7am flight to catch. It's 4 ft tall inside so is comfy with a camp chair and air mattress.

LOL - You tease.

This time the ban was a mistake. A total mistake. That's Baldy's story and I'm sticking to it.

Hey ChecksWrecks, where did you get your trailer hitch for the Ténéré?

Member Z06 has been making them. Something REALLY important is to let him know the height for the ball. While his original hitches were quite high, the height should be close to the height of your rear axle for a number of reasons.

Use the search box with the words: trailer hitch
Here's one of the threads you should find: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=22526.0

Nice! Thank you!!! (that link went to some PHOTOBUCKET thread, and I couldn't find anything about the trailer hitches, but I will use the search function, which I should have done in the first place.)

I just re-posted a lot of what were Photobucket photos from the new Smugmug account, so the photos are restored. See page 10 of that thread.
