I too am not a fan of fast food. BUT, when I do, it's a quesadilla from Taco Bell, or a cheeseburger from Braum's. (not much different from McD's, but much, much better tasting) I eat so much chicken, I'm surprised I don't grow feathers. When the pizza craving hits, I do my own baking. (w/chicken of course) But, yeah, portion control is my nemesis.

That must be a Canadian dish looks too healthy for USA quisine.
The garlic/parm mashed potatoes were probably the worst thing, relatively speaking. Lots of butter, some condensed milk because we don't keep heavy whipping cream in the house normally, sea salt and of course, the parmesan cheese. None of it really bad for you, though my portion control suffers too. The asparagus was just steamed with zero calorie Butter Buds on them and a dash of left over shredded parm.

Post #273 has more details on the salmon patties and the mashed potatoes. Around there is the quickie gumbo and shrimp etouffee too. I am not responsible for any subsequent weight gain or shrinkage of clothing.

Pre-Seasoned and vacuum-sealed Steaks.
Ribeye for me, and a NY Strip for my Wife.

IMG_8495.JPG

I got a Sous-Vide cooking setup for Christmas, so I've been trying out a few things......................

IMG_8496.JPG

133-degrees F for 3-1/2 hours.
The steaks come out looking like this.

IMG_8497.JPG

IMG_8500.JPG

My Propane Grill has a Sear-burner on the side.
Got it nice and Hot!

IMG_8498.JPG

Seared for 1-minute each side in 30-second intervals, flipping and rotating in between.

IMG_8502.JPG

They came out amazing!

IMG_8499.JPG

IMG_8503.JPG

I know this is how Restaurants do it...........

I have to say, this was one of the absolute best steaks I have ever cooked at home...............No Joke!
It was super tender and delicious!

IMG_8504.JPG

My Wife and I rounded out the meal with (Cauliflower-based) Veggie-Tots cooked in the Air-Fryer.

I'm not sure how I managed my "portion-control" but I only ate half of it for dinner last night.....................I took the other half to work with me for lunch today.

I've had a set of these Plates for a long time.
I also have the matching Bowls and Coffee Mugs.

They were actually given to me by a friend who bought a "Model Home" that was fully furnished. These Dinnerware sets came displayed in the Kitchen Cabinets, and he didn't want them.

You should have visited the restaurant a couple hours earlier. You likely would have had a floor show to accompany your meal. :D Now, if you ever go to a Waffle House in the middle of the night, you're almost guaranteed to see a floor show. :D

Baby shower for Sparticus. Limited guest list. Burgers were relatively healthy. They were seasoned with McCormicks Worcestershire Pub Burger, and fajita seasoning. Then they were grilled/smoked with a mixture of pecan, and mesquite wood. The hot dogs. . . . well. . . . they're hot dogs, no way to make them healthy. shower.JPG

How is it possible that this is the first time I have seen this thread...?
(Interesting dynamic at home, Vegan Wife and me, a tofu eatin' Omnivore Husband)
We do forage as much as we can when things are in season here at home, lots of mushrooms (She's Polish and its what they do). We live on a small acreage (3.4ac) and a lot of things grow nearby. I sold the idea of riding bikes together saying "Do you understand how much foraging we can do on motorcycles?" its been a busy 4.5 years since that day...
I will post up more soon, there might be meat or there might not be... We will see hahahaha (there will be beer though)
Here is a reverse seared Pork Shoulder Steak on the weber kettle from a while back.

The store was out of jambalaya mix, so I got gumbo mix. Once again, just Zatarain's mix with chicken, shrimp, and Opa's sausage.

Last night I did my weekly chicken grillin'. Did a round two of burgers. Weather was drizzly so I used the propane gill. Put some wood chips in the box, and got 'em smokin'. With the lid closed it looked like Cheech & Chong's van.
