You just went on my shit list. Limit myself to 8? Bwahahahaha
I hate denying myself food. And obviously, I'm not very successful at it either or I wouldn't be back up to 260+.

But I try to eat food I enjoy, if less of it lately.

Dance while you cook!
Or have a beer for each hand for curls in the shower ;)

Learned this morning killing time watching Rachel Ray while waiting for the audiologist's office to call about checking Pap's hearing aid. When I went to pick it up I asked if she would like to NEAT dance with me...she did not appear  amused. But hey I don't have to yell in Pap's ear now.

NEAT Well, that was interesting, but not, IMHO, particularly relevant to weight loss, considering the general lack of knowledge about NEAT. As a former industrial worker, my NEAT would have been high. I walked 6-10 miles some nights at work, (pedometer). And did a lot of standing activity. Other factors like night shift work, excess calories, etc impacted that time period too. I gained 80 lbs over 10 years of graveyard shift.

The acronym for the masses was extolled by a cardiologist and was in reference to keeping your heart healthy not specific to weight loss...the latter of which is kinda mute without the former. :)
Take the stairs, far end of the parking lot. Old ideas with a fancy pneumonic to remind you to move. Any activity (and I'm esp. fond of Sierra1's idea) is bound to bump rev your metabolism. Don't see a downside (except I might run the well dry).

Those arm loads of fire wood I just stockpiled before the shtf tonight counted?! Surely!

No argument on maintaining small amounts of daily activity being a positive thing. Firewood in general is a calorie burning way to heat the home! BTDT. Used to go thru 8 cords of wood a winter when I was growing up. Should have seen the look on Dad's face when they finished the gas furnace install and turned it on. I think he was 67 at the time and living alone. I had been going over a couple times a week to keep wood in the house for him, but I know he still brought more in himself.

I hear you. I enjoy the creativity of cooking though, so prep time doesn't bother me. Beer in the shower, you say... I've had some days like that.
I too enjoy cooking, just not after I get home from work. The beer & shower thing start back when I was in the Navy. Our housing unit overlooked the river and subs. The shower had a window in it, at just the right place to look out, and have the water on me as I was drinking my beer. The cold air coming in the window, and the hot water on me....

A beer in each hand. Exercise sets with one, imbibing the other. Alternate until empty...Sierra1's NEAT beer shower technique! You'll soon have a following :D

Beef Pot Roast in the slow cooker with potatoes and carrots. Beefy Onion soup with onions and garlic, S&P for seasoning.

Thin crust, Pepperoni/Pineapple pizza with home made sauce and mozzarella cheese. This pizza was made almost exclusively from Dollar Tree items. My wife loves pepperoni/pineapple pizza. $1 for the thin crust, $2.50 worth of Hormell pepperoni, $0.33 of small pineapple chunks, call it $0.50 of cheese, (big bag of Walmart pre-shredded mozzarella), so we have a delicious dinner for less than $5. Baked at 425º for 12 minutes.

Edit (decimal points are important!) And we had nearly half left over. Where were you Sierra1? We would have had to augment with beer, but we could have kept you happy. :p

Sorry, my pizza would have been $0.33 cheaper. But, yeah, pizza has to be consumed with beer. We were busy today. Ended up having a fajita chicken burrito, with all the fixins at El Fenix. It's a Tex-mex chain restaurant that claims to be the oldest in Texas, but they're limited to the DFW area.

I never had the pepperoni/pineapple combo prior to meeting my wife. Not my first choice, but surprisingly ok. Over the last decade I have gotten her more interested in spicy foots and the heat level in some of our dishes has increased significantly. I'm still working on getting her to enjoy squash, brussels sprouts and chicken gizzards though. ;)

@Nikolajsen - Some beer is better than others, but you're allowed to improvise. Pizza can be made with just about any ingredients and is perfectly suited to other beverages. Diversity is a good thing.

THAT is an understatement. I'm not a fan of IPAs, too bitter. My choice of beers will change from time to time. Currently hooked on Corona Light with lime juice. Two that I really liked, Tequiza & Occulto, have been discontinued. Don't worry Nikolajsen, my oldest son hates most beers, and he eats plenty of pizza(s). And, best pizza(s) & beer(s) could be worse than an oil thread. :D

Ever try Tecate? I prefer that over Corona, but won't refuse a free Corona. :) I enjoy most IPAs and like a good Hefeweizen on tap when I can find one.

Yes, I went from Tecate to Corona. There is a place in Ft. Worth called The Flying Saucer. Used to be a little dive bar that had almost every beer from every place. Buddy of mine that had been stationed in Germany, brought me there and introduced me to several "weizens". Can't remember the name of my favorite one....couldn't see through it....fantastic flavor. The Saucer moved to a much bigger building and went "hipster". Total different vibe....shame. And, as far as the "hard stuff" goes....my current fave is Silver Star's, Texas Honey. Smooth and sneaky.
