Is there such a thing as inorganic agave syrup? It bugs me when I see labels like that. Like hormone free labels on chicken. It's illegal for hormones to be in chicken, so advertising that there isn't any in the chicken is a hollow claim.

I was advised to watch my blood sugars a few months ago. Which means very few pastas, breads, and other carbohydrates.

But on the positive side I’ve gone from 220 down to 180. Which is what I weighed 25 years ago.
Impressive. My youngest kid, and I are hypoglycemic. Difference is that he has his mom's genetics. He's 5'11", 200lbs, 5.2% body fat. . . . and has to eat 5k+ calories a day; if his sugar drops too low. . . . he passes out. Lets just say I'm the opposite. Oddly enough hypo-, and hyper-, glycemics have to avoid sugar. The vast majority of the food I eat is higher in protein. Which is why most of my Food Porn contributions are grilled chicken. The carbs I eat, for the most part, are complex carbs. I even added cardio into my exercise. Everybody I know that started cardio lost bunches of weight. I've lost maybe 10-15lbs in four years. On the positive side, I haven't lost any strength.

The last time I was 220lbs was 25 years ago. The last time I was 180lbs was 35 years ago.

Yup. False advertising:

Toilet paper too. 250 sheets per roll? Sounds like overkill.....less sheets with sandwiches!

That's a Trifle Sponge? Not when they're out of date... :(

I'll get mi coat.....

A common quick dinner for me. Grilled chicken and Brussels sprouts. View attachment 74552
Yum!! I like the weird, uncommon, veggies. I don't like green beans, carrots, peas, etc. I love me some brussels sprouts, spinach, asparagus, beets, etc. I usually put the mushroom & onion combo in my scrambled eggs for my everyday breakfast; w/fajita seasoning, and a dash of salsa.

Like Gluten free corn products or fat free licorice? :D Advertising is a quirky thing.

Drunken “Porn” Prawns - when I lived in the UK I got these (without the addition of five spice) from a takeaway. I enjoyed them so much I got the recipe.

I also thought that I recognized the very attractive chef/owner.....then it dawned on me where I had seen her before. She had worked in the porn industry...

Great chef

@PhilPhilippines That looks tasty, but I've never seen drunken prawns battered like that. Do share the recipe if you made that yourself. I've seen some beer versions along with the traditional rice wine recipes. Not too keen on the original version with live shrimp eaten raw, though I'd likely try it if served to me.

Not likely to eat any seafood/chicken/beef raw. Nope, not even oysters. But, those battered. . . . cooked. . . . prawns do look delicious.

Perfect Winter day soup. Right up there with a bowl of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich.

See, that must be another southern thing. My wife'd be all over that. I don't like tomato soup, but I like spaghetti sauce. I don't like grilled cheese, but I like cheeseburgers. I like New England clam chowder, but not Manhattan style. :D

I greatly prefer New England style clam chowder. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and won't make Manhattan style chowder. We put bacon in our grilled cheese sandwiches often. And Tillamook Cheddar, sometimes with a slice of Havarti adds to the flavor of the grilled cheese.
